Ok everyone, you have been asking and we have been promising. The Rifle Range is NOW OPEN.

Our rates are:
$24 per hour per person. And......

$20 for a rifle/pistol combo per hour per person.

Some people have hinted that our rifle range prices have gone up. Well they did. But we also extended the time from 30 mins to 1 hour. GMFSC was charging $21 for 30 mins.

So hurry up and come see us before the lanes fill up!

Sweet! What kind of rules are there for the RR? Ammo, calibers, etc.?

Was able to try out the rifle range last Sunday, very clean, and well lit. Paid the $20 for rifle pistol combo, got there around 10 and left at 11:45. my total bill was $22.69 with purchasing targets. I am very pleased with everything I have seen and am looking forward to the retail store.

At this point Bluecore is probably the only pay range I will be going to for the foreseeable future.

On thing to note about the rifle range, bring real ear protection as the closed space and echo makes it quite loud.

Example, a few shots from my AR here:

I have been there when it was the Green Mountain whatever, and I have been there once the new guys took over....REAL NICE!

That took down all those trashy pictures, new paint, and took the professional part up ten fold. Guys are real nice, and the ventilation is amazing...almost cold in there, but I could shoot dirty ammo there all day and wouldn't have the black lung like I do when I go other places around town....

Wish it were cheaper though...One thing I like about the Firing Line and the Shootist is that they have no time limit...sometimes it's nice to blow a couple of hours ( and all of your ammo ).

I bought my 1 year membership for $242 on sale, barely more than $20 per month - for unlimited range time.

That's cheap.

Even at the full price of $269 per year that's only $22.41 per month -

I was in the area and stopped by there today. Very friendly, took me and my GF on a tour, handled several weapons and had a nice talk. The pistol side was the best ventilated I have seen, and quite comfortable. The rifle side was more what you expect at an indoor range as far as comfort, but still very nice. I will likely be giving this place a go.

Wish I had got in on that, i kept putting off getting a membership and now ive waited to long. Went by today so the misses could finally shoot the new gun and membership is now 299. As much as I'm enjoying this new hobby that's almost twice a month to break even on range fees. Yeah there are some other perks that go along with membership but range time is the big one for me.

Stopped by the retail store too. Looks great and finally got my hands on a USP, which is going to be my next gun for sure.

Stopped by the other day, didn't do any shooting though. The guys took the time to tell me all about the facility and give me a tour, which I thought was awesome. It seems like a nice facility, well lit and ventilated. Prices in the retail shop are a bit elevated though.

What does blue core provide me that justifies $15 per hour,

where as I can go to cherry creek and shoot all day for .50 cents more?

I find the facility to be appealing, but I cannot justify $60 for 4hrs,

when that $60 could be spent on ammo! :D

If you do a pistol/rifle combo, do you do it at the rifle range alone, or do you have to move to the pistol range do shoot the pistols?

I might be down with a membership here, they're just down the road from my house.

Good Morning All,

James here from BluCore Shooting Center. Wanted to let everyone know that we just got a shipment of Kimbers in, 5 total. Some full size and some compact. They are in the retail ready for a new home.

We are also having a sale on bulk shotgun ammo that we just got it.

So please stop by and see us this weekend!

The BluCore group has absolutely nothing in common with the former GMFSC ownership. They are extemely friendly, professional, and they have shown flexibility in their policies to suit their customer base. Lifting of the reloaded ammo restriction is a prime example of this.

BluCore is easily the cleanest and best ventilated indoor range in the Denver Metro. Its also one of the few indoor ranges that allows competent shooters to draw from holster and do controlled rapid fire. You know, the kind of "training" that will get you thrown out of Cherry Creek, The Firing Line, etc. The range is safe and well regulated, and unlike some other ranges I've trained at, there are no shenanigans going on in the lanes around you.

In addition to the 100-yard underground rifle range, they also allow you to shoot a variety of rifles in the pistol bay. My M4gery comes out more often because of this.

I've taken a couple of their pistol courses, and the level of instruction is spectacular. Being mostly self-trained via the internet, my skills had begun to stagnate over the past year. The feedback I received in the BluCore classes was phenomenal, and I broke through my personal barriers in a big way. Students get a lot of individual attention, and all of my classmates seemed to make huge personal gains in a short period of time. I wish these guys were around a few years ago when I started shooting pistols. I'd be miles ahead.

The classes run drills in the open bay in front of the normal firing line. This allows you to run drills you could never do at most of the indoor ranges in the Denver Metro. We worked drills like El Presidente, shot on the move, and engaged multiple targets. The classes are a blast. For me, the BluCore range and staff is like a gift from the tactical pistol gods, and I'm thankful that I won't have to fly all over the country for quality instruction.

I still don't see a problem with this.

1. Change password before going.
2. Log in to the forum as proof of membership.
3. Log out of forum.
4. Delete all cookies/history/cache.
5. Change password on system of your choice afterward.

And thanks to BlueCore Shooting Center for offering CO-AR15.com members this deal!

I know you are just pointing that out, and I'm just pointing out that I think your argument is silly [Coffee]. Telling them your user name really doesn't prove anything; i could just go and tell them yours if that was the case.

Just messin with ya man. I just think there's no point in complaining if they are offering us a break, and the only requirement is to log on to a computer, and then log out. It's not like they're asking us to log on to our banks. [Beer]

Checked out Blue Core this morning. Took the .308 and AR to the Rifle Range. Nice place, everyone treated me well and the range is very nice. Good selection of firearms in the retail shop. Ranges were pretty busy at opening time, 8-10 people in line and others arriving every few moments. Glad to see they are busy.

I thought it was $21 for the rifle range, but I guess it's $30. O'well, was worth it for what I needed to do. I like the target carriers for the rifle range, last time I was there you had to ask someone to get your target. (long ago!)

Will recommend to others.

I will say, both my father and I, who are members and shoot both rifles and pistols, we're quite less than pleased that during your LONG period of rifle range downtime gave us only the options of having no rifle range, or suspending our entire membership while it was down. We tried asking for a 50% extension based on downtime, so if rifle was down for 4 months you would add 2 months to our membership. We felt this was more than fair, since the rifle range is double the cost of pistol, so during those 4 months we were losing WELL more than half the value of our membership.

The response we got back was to the effect that your owners didn't care, and had enough members, and were "not raising rates yet to make up for it". In fact, we were specifically told that you were still getting renewals, so you didn't care. I can say that a place I liked a bunch at first lost a bunch of my favor with that attitude.

We weren't sold the memberships under the stipulation that we would have no rifle range for a full third of our membership. And feel quite cheated by it.

Honestly, I hope someone else comes in and gives some competition. I feel that being the only game in town, you don't have to fight to be the best and can be complacent. I like your facility, but feel like mud with how that went down.

The rifle range going down was not really a "planned" event, and I do apologize for that. It also took a lot longer than we could have anticipated due to a few hang ups.. I am not sure who you talked with about the membership extension, and I am sorry you felt like you were not appreciated. I can assure you that is not the case at all, and if the owners heard this (I will make sure they do by the way) they would definitely not be happy with it. We appreciate all of our members, and customers for that matter.

I do know there was a lot of deliberation on how to handle the rifle range being down, and unfortunately it sounds like you may have gotten info when there wasn't really a decision made yet on what to do.

I will make sure Sean and Eric get this feedback though, and although it's not my favorite feedback to hear, it is definitely an opportunity for us to improve! Thank you for saying something, we can't try to fix things if we do not know there is something wrong!

I can provide the 6+ email chain on the subject with your general contact email addy. Here in this tread?

P.S. if it is sent to your general listed contact email, it should be something you know is wrong. So I'm not sure what your last statement is about??? That's why we emailed you there, so you could fix it. Someone knew it was wrong. Was it a rogue employee, or a drastic shift in policy/attitude since then?

My membership just expired on 8/8/12 and I don't know if after paying for a full services membership last time and not having full service for I think half that membership I don't know if I want to re-up. The rifle range before the shutdown was in bad shape. If you went there when it was raining, which is why you go to an indoor range, half the lanes didn't work. I just don't know what to do now, I'm looking into other options.

After reading back through the emails, it appears that Eric, one of the owners was the one that responded to our last inquiry.

The gist of it was that they were held up by permits, and blaming Lakewood. Ok, I believe that, but why not make sure the permits are acquired before shutting down and starting renovations? The range was down just over 5 months. Each time a schedule was promised "in the next couple of weeks" and that continued for months.

His email continued to include "These are the only 2 options. They are both fair and equitable." and "Most of the original members that signed up w/ us last April have already renewed this year". He denies our request, saying "We are not prepared to extend memberships for the period of time that the rifle range is closed." Continuing "Because we now have so many members, when we re-open the rifle range, we'll be doing a membership hike".

I think this email response disappointed me most of all. Since ownership is already aware of this, and was the responding employee, I'm going to assume that pleading with one of the managers will not yield fruitful results.

That is accurate that's why the range was shut down, instead of patching it up to get by we wanted to do it right.

As for the permits... Yikes Lakewood took forever to give them to us. I promise we in no way shape or form wanted or intended for the range to be down that long. We actually had all the new ventilation equipment in town for well over a month before they even came out to give us the permits. And yes we asked for them before starting the project. Their response was we are very back logged and will get out there when we can.

All that being said, I am not here to make excuses, we are a growing business and are new to the game so we are going to make mistakes. I'm on here to help if I can, because I do care. I joined these boards without even knowing of this thread because of the FRIDPA area. I stumbled in here. I was under the impression that BC offered members the option to suspend their membership during the renovation of the rifle range? In fact I seem to specifically recall posting such, but that was likely lost in the great crash.

That said why is this now becoming an issue again? The range was offline months ago and now the pissing starts over it?

Van: Appreciate you joining the forum. I became a member at BluCore back in Mar and have been very pleased with the range, selection and people. It was unfortunate that the rifle range took so long to open, but I had a great time shooting at the pistol range.

You just need to hire some Marine grunts. It is kind of hard having to talk so slow to some of the Rangers in there so they understand.

I think it's because we now have a way to express our feelings on the matter in an open forum. I've always given positive feed back on Blucor, but this is my bitch.

I paid for the use of a rifle and pistol range for a year and got only the use of the rifle range for 7 of the 12 months I paid for. Sure I could have suspended my membership for those 5 months, but what would I have done for those five months? Got another membership somewhere else so I could continue to shoot? This is what sucks. I like to shoot at least a few times a month and it was not reasonable to not shoot for this time. I decided to take the lesser of the two bad choices. I just feel that should have been third choice.

For me it is about convenience. Blucore is more expensive than the Firing Line where I was a member for two years, but no rifle range at the Firing line. Same when compared to Family Shooting Center or Pikes Peak Gun Club, but takes a little more planning to go to those place, particularly PPCG.

At BluCore I can pop over for a quick hour of shooting and be back to work. Annual membership is steep unless you do a lot of shooting.

Facility and people make it worthwhile for me. Took a friend over today. Both of us were in need of some mental health treatment.

If you shoot 2 times per month on the pistol range (or once a month on the rifle range), the membership pays for itself. During my first year, I averaged 2 visits per week. In a year, that would be 104 visits. If you take their current membership fee and divide it by 100, that would be $3.50 per visit. Not everyone goes that often, but you can see how it's a deal for anyone who goes on a regular basis.

I know the range fees may seem pricey to some people, but keep in mind that they put in new ventilation on the pistol range before they opened, and put a separate new ventilation system on the rifle range this year, in addition to remodeling the retail and range master areas. It's not like they are keeping things the same but charging more... they've made a LOT of improvements. Anyone who has been there knows the ventilation on the ranges is awesome.

Some people will like BluCore and some will not. Luckily there are several ranges to choose from in the Denver area. We can all find the one that suits us best.

Sorry you feel that way, we try to be tops in the area with cleanlines, service, and what we can offer. Unfortunately that may cost a little more.

Our memberships are where the savings come in.

And just for an example, there is a new range opening in Longmont....$300 membership fee, and $33.49 a month. Thats almost double our prices!

But like Dawnpatrol said, to each their own, we all have different tastes and values, thank goodness or the world would be a boring place!

Took a rifle out last week and was really impressed with the rifle range. I usually find an outdoor range to shoot but this place worked really convenient. They definitely are the cleanest and best ventilated range that I have been to.

I found the cost to be a little steep also though. I couldn't afford to go often but for the occasional trip to check some work up loads it works well.

I like shooting there, but the drive can take up to 45 minutes going all the way down Wadsworth for me, so it's hard to get motivated to head out that way. The rifle range is nice, but not so much the price :). Staff is still alright -- some more friendly than others, but none that I've encountered have been unfriendly either. Seems the rules are still changing, as at one point they said you could stand and fire in the rifle lanes, but now you cannot. Despite the posted rules, you can rapid fire as long as you're demonstrating you're in control of the weapon.

As always, however, I personally prefer to shoot outdoors whenever possible. Over labor day weekend I went to a popular shooting area in the Black Hills of South Dakota where it seemed there was a kind of cul de sac every so often along the dirt road for people to pull off and set up their targets. Only bad thing was I ending up destroying my portable target holder with some .40 cal rounds.

No steel cased because it messes up the guy that recycles our brass for us. Also steel case "could" have a steel core and the magnet misses it...

Yeah, Wolf, ___ bear, and other steel ammo typicaly uses a bi-metal jacket that can harm baffles and such. Most indoor places don't allow steel in any form.

Sucks that people cant be honest and just buy some ammo there or just get some xm193 for god sake, why waste your m885 or punish your gun with cheap steel that is not that accurate.

Rifle rounds that are steel core aka "penetrator" will go right through the traps. A few weeks ago we had the rifle range closed because someone had shot up the traps so bad we needed to do a full replacement on three of them.

Some people think its funny to circumvent the rules and hide the ammo from us, it causes lots of damage and in extreme cases can ricochet and kill someone.... Either way not a good story.

Made my first trip to Blue Core this weekend. I had been to the building before it became Blue Core and I must say, what an improvement over what used to be there!!!! Didn't visit the range this time but I thought the shop was awesome. I was greeted as I walked through the door, which has never happened to me at a Gunstore like this before. The guys behind the counter didn't act like they were too busy to help like so many other gun stores. They were actually happy to help! Very friendly service!

I think this will become my favorite, most frequented store. Semi-auto pistol selection is great (and priced well). Black Rifle selection is GREAT. Not a huge selection of AR accessories but better than the other stores in this neck-of-the-woods. Defensive ammo selection was great. Nice selection of bags but they could use a few more holsters. If there are any ladies reading this, I think they have the biggest selection of CCW purses and bags of any store I have been to in the metro area. (I was considering a present for the wife ;))

It depends on the evening. Tues is ladies night (ladies pay no lane fees) so it tends to be a bit busier. If there are classes going it can be busy, but usually during mid week around 5-6 you can walk in and there might be a 10-15 minute wait.

While you can't make a reservation without becoming a member (about $300/year and the perk of no range fees) you can sign in, drop off some form of ID card (I use my NRA membership card), leave and come back. I just wanted to put i n my two cents in as I took one of their rifle classes last month. The instructors were great, they had a good mix of class time and range time, and besides it was a fun, learning experience. As it was my first class of the "tactical" nature it definitely made me want to do more of them. It was their Rifle I class and while some of it was repetitious to me it never hurts to go over things (such as safety) more than once. Realize that I have been around firearms for years and have shot quite a bit but I just jumped into the AR fold a few years back.
Overall it was a well-paced class that kept you thinking and I am definitely planning on taking more classes there as Jeff and Micah were excellent instructors.

This is kind of a dead thread but I've been shooting at Blucore for a couple years and have been a member for the last month so I thought I'd throw my two cents in.

The facility itself is fantastic. Very clean, most of the equipment is in working order (with the exception of an off target retriever or two), and the air filtration system is great. Being able to shoot 100 yards indoors is a treat and I usually stay a lot longer than originally planned (which led me to get a membership). Their is a fairly good selection of targets and they have many rental guns to choose from at a fair price.

As far as the employees go it's hit or miss. There's a few guys that work there that I'd say are helpful and friendly but the majority don't really show much interest in me being there. Maybe it's because I'm a young looking guy or something but the lack of customer service I usually get from the range and retail areas is not worth the $400 a year. BUT the ranges themselves are worth it especially when I only live a block down the road. I've brought friends in and have suggested my other shooting friends to stop in and they all had a great time. Highly recommended.

ended up checking them out last friday. Only went to the pistol side - overall i liked the range - well lit, ventilated etc. there wasnt much room behind the lanes (to watch if you are in a group) or put gun cases etc but my biggest complaint was that i dint see a range officer at all. Normally im ok with this but, they just happened to put us next to a group of 4 new shooters - waving guns around, finger on the trigger type of thing.

the place was pretty busy (waited for 45 minutes) so i decided to split a lane with my buddy - most ranges ive been to tack on 5-10$ per additional shooter but not here. If i knew we were going to be charged the same i would have gotten my own lane. ended up paying ~40$/hr to use the lane.

If you don't need the rifle range, then check out Bristlecone. I like the lanes more (better lit, more room, better target system) and there are always good safety oriented range offers on the firing line.
Think it's $19 per person (unless you quality for a discount, ie current or former military, law enforcement, first responder, etc)

But just a warning, it has been getting pretty busy lately. I see people having to wait for lanes more often these days.

thanks - was deciding on the 2 but chose blu due to the rifle range. it seems that most places are charging ~20 for range time - that about right? it's funny that i was spoiled in California of all places - 1000 yard range - anytime access for 50$/year http://www.desertmarksmen.org/ one of the few perks of living in palmdale

Went to blue core just to look around. Wasn't prepared to shoot. I asked if I could look at the range. Reply was "nope". Well fuck you very much then. I cant even look to decide if I want to come back and shoot no thanks. If I want attitude from a little bitch I'll stay at home.

Blue Core made you so angry that you insulted your wife at the same time?

That's a very adult response if you ask me.
