View Full Version : IDPA / IPSC / other practical shooting in CO?
I also heard there might be a Glock -sponsored type of event. Looking to join something along those lines in Northern CO. IDPA sounds like something I'd be into, but looking at fridpa.com it seems like they shoot in Pueblo every month, and I would not be able to make most of the events.
Anyone know of anything going on in the Denver to Fort Collins area of the state?

IPSC (USPSA) matches at Weld County Fish and Wildlife Range, Boulder Rifle Club, Aurora Gun Club, Ben Lomond Gun Club, Clear Creek and Pueblo West. IDPA at Pueblo West and Clear Creek.
Both are fun games, come on out and shoot with us, PM me if you have questions.
Edit Glock type event=GSSF Glock Sport Shooting Foundation, match is usually in August at Weld County range mentioned above, www.gssfonline.com

Can one just come and watch the 3gun shoot?
got any directions or a link to it?
Yes anyone can come watch 3gun or any other match.
Directions to aurora gun club http://www.ecouspsa.com/maps/agcmap.html
just bring your stuff and shoot. It's not high pressure in anyway. Just gotta be safe.
You'll regret not bringing your stuff (I did)
don't worry about not having all high speed gear. bring what you can and have fun with it. I haven't seen or heard of any gear snobs out there, just people looking to have a good time.

I know that one of the Ben Lomond members who is on the board of CCGC gives safety evaluations for IPSC out at Ben Lomond for IPSC. He held a class there last month but I wasn't free to attend.
Aurora Gun Club is REALLY close to where I live now and I'm hoping I could sneak out to go see this style of shooting. I could bring my guns but I don't yet own any magazine carriers (easily remedied) for any of my handguns.
Would someone there insist on a safety orientation before any participation or what?

not that I'm aware of. they might have a chat with you and make sure you know the safety rules and what not.
don't be affraid to ask for help from anyone there.
To shoot an IPSC match you need to take a short safety class beforehand. See the email addys listed on www.ecouspsa.com for aurora gun club and they can set you up with a safety class.

Are there any websites with info on IDPA 3-gun stuff? I know next to nothing about it, but what I do know sounds like fun.
