CHEYENNE — Wyoming on Wednesday became the fourth state to allow citizens to carry concealed guns without a permit, with Gov. Matt Mead signing a bill into law as several other states considered similar action.

While I've said I don't really "support" this in Colorado, I do hope it passes here as well. I'm glad to see that it went thought in Wyoming

I wonder if our neighbors decisions will put any more pressure on our legislature. I certainly hope it will

And I hope it will make some of the anti-carry folks realize that it works in other states and that it's not that unusual of a thing, therefore not being as big of a deal here in colorado

I'd like to see it pass here also.
Talking to a co-worker today, the only thing we'd like to see implemented is a way for you to check and confirm that you're not a prohibited person.
The scenario is, I've owned a handgun for 20 years, and this passes, so I start to carry. But someone took a parking ticket off my windshield a couple years ago, and now if I get pulled over, my carrying is (potentially?) a felony.
Maybe a website you could enter your info in and it will give you a go/no-go for a background check without having to attempt to purchase another gun. Or a call center... but something "anonymous" in the way that they won't caller-id you to have police come pick you up while you're on hold.

The problem with the Anti's is most of them likely believe, deep down inside, that it's not a bad idea, they just REFUSE to admit it. That's the problem with Libs, if it doesn't directly benefit their "agenda" (regardless of what their personal views may be), they will always be against it, they don't even want to hear the argument.

this is an excerpt from my State senators Newsletter:
Concealed Carry
Under House Bill 1205, anyone who meets the criteria — which would not include people barred for reasons such as felonies, mental health and substance abuse problems or domestic violence convictions — could carry a concealed gun without a permit, although permits would still exist.
Under the bill, there would be no way to screen out those with felonies or other disqualifying factors because people carrying concealed guns would be expected to police themselves. The House gave final approval to this bill today.
I support the concealed carry law as written. This bill goes too far. What are your thoughts on this?

Delusional?
In order to purchase a firearm you have to clear CBI.
how is that policing ourselves?
Im not talking about all of the "what ifs" I mean a "Buy a Gun, put it in your pocket because you are a law-abiding citizen protected by the 2nd Amendment." situation.
There will always be extenuating circumstances that cannot be foreseen in every situation. No law will prevent those.
I guess I just dont get it.

I suspect there are a LOT of people carrying concealed right now that either:
1) Can't legally own a gun and are breaking the law by even possessing it, or
2) Legally own a gun but don't have a permit, and decide to carry it concealed anyway.
The Lepht just can't seem to understand that a law such as this really won't change anything, except to marginally reduce the amount of revenue received for conceal carry permits.
But as was posted above, they just can't get themselves to go against the grain of the inbred (read: learned in public schools and universities) reaction against ANYONE carrying heat.

i would think that even if it does pass, people will still get their CCW for the reciprocity in the other states

+1.
Or, be like Alaska, where if you have a CCW, no background check if buying a firearm.
If an unpaid parking ticket prevents you from carrying, then I'm in trouble.
What were you talking about Chad?

Especially if HR 822 passes, which I hope to hell it does

HR 822 would certainly expand my vacationing options.
