For the libtards who kept on arguing that US needs illegals for low end jobs.

Something I've always wondered about is why the AFL-CIO isn't enraged about the illegal immigration issue. (Actually, that's a rhetorical statement because I know it's all about membership, not legality.) But it pisses me off that my union (IAMAW) won't take a stand against it because in reality, one of the big effects of the illegals is to drive down the average wage of those of us who do work.

I've presented this to our union goon a couple times and in the end, he has to admit that he thinks it's more about membership than anything else. I guess I need to quit asking this question because I always do a slow burn for a while afterward.

I'm the lone true conservative in my office (of the 8 of us, a couple others claim to be but their words and deeds say otherwise); all the others vary from mildly to wildly supportive of what our union does. But it does make for some lively discussions at times because one of my favorite pastimes is to "pull the cat's whiskers" now and then to stir things up.

I agree, when their is so many willing to work legal citizens out of work I think any one caught hiring illegals should also go to jail! I dont care where they come from as long as they do it legal and contribute to society instead of feeding off of it.

Boy, I'll tell you what, stuff like this gives me chills. American spirit my friends and we (as conservatives) have been saying this for a long time. No job is beneath someone who needs to put food on the table and God bless everyone of those with master degrees that argue that $8 per hour is a heck of a lot more than nothing!

and imagine how GOOD $8 an hour would look to someone when we strip away their welfare checks and they have NADA.

We know where most of them i.e. illegals are so this should happen more often.

If it annoys the liberals then have a special liberal tax so they can pay for all the illegals that live here:)

I have no problem with legal immigrants, I am one! Illegals piss just me off!

Frankly there are a lot of people in government, unions, and business that have no real interest in stopping illegal immigration. This is a great example that an overly burdened labor market makes labor worth less. Good job sheriff joe! If unions actually cared about the American worker, then they would include the need to end illegal immigration, so our labor is worth more.

I had to do the same thing. It had been about a year out of college with a Bachelor's Degree in International Business and still couldn't find employment. Not even a server job. I sent out literally hundreds of applications. Extremely overqualified for most of them, but still needed a job. Had to swallow my pride and get a job at Buffalo Wild Wings at $8.00/hr till something else came along.

Bigbear I Have it on good info you make at least $8.25 [LOL]
Kidding Brother.
I Must have gotten a touch of that Blessing. I have an interview today and Another one Monday.

I would also like to add a slight to the corporation that will only pay $8.00/hr because they are trying to beat last years profit margins in order to pay larger dividends to the stockholders... instead of just making their products more viable in a recession economy.

It's better to sell 100 items at a $10 Markup as opposed to selling 1 Item at a $80 Markup.
My 2 cents

Flan, can you be more specific on how the unions are related to illegal immigration?

I'm not trying to trap you or anything, but I really am curious how they come across each other in the real world. I've never worked for a union.

BigBear

F--- unions. Someone tried to make me join a musical union (AMA I think) in order to sub a gig for an orchestra. I told them there was no way I would join. The maestro still let me in to play without joining the union. He said they've been giving him grief ever since he landed that job. Bunch of whining sissies cause they didn't get a 10 minute break every hour or whatever. I even got better pay as a "freelance" than I would've as a unionist.

I would LOVE to see this more often.

I also think that if you are caught employing illeagals it should cost you your buisness, thats it, close the doors and never be allowd to open another one. ALL profits go to (insert charity here), AND a mandatory minimum sentance of 5 years FOR EVERY SINGLE ILLEAGAL WORKER.

This shit would quit damn near overnight.

I would also like to see them charged for treason.
