View Full Version : Scope for FAL
so after shooting at clays at ~250 last weekend I'm thinking a scope might be good. It would definatly help some. I realize that a FAL is not known for super accuracy but I saw that it is good enough for me. (was able to hit them eventually) :)
question is, what would you recommend for a scope on one. I know nothing of optics and have only shot irons so the more reasoning you can give the better.
Thanks
you can (and bet it probalby has already been done) pretty much mount anything you want on an FAL.
how much do you want to spend?
how far out do you want to 'reach'?
what do you want to use it for? (tactical, CQB, 'long range'...ect)
under 300 price
say 300yd max range. between my skills, the rifle, and the places I shoot thats about it. a graded reticle for ranges would be nice
I want to use it for punching paper & clays is about it

You can get a really good Burris or Leopold for that kind of money. I am partial to Burris I just bought a Full Field 2 with ballistic plex cross hairs 3X9X40mm. I bought it from a guy on arfcom in the EE it was brand new in the box for $170+$5 shipping.
You can buy a new one at Sportsman Wharehouse for $230. Im going to put this scope on an ar I am building right now.
don't forget that you'll need a place to mount it.
A receiver cover is the most common and come in varying prices with reflecting quality.
I had an aimpoint on mine and it worked real well for distances up to 150 yds
The DSArms mount is rock solid
