Channel two news just reported that a controlled fire in Lymon has gotten out of control. That's all I heard.

or Lyons. Whichever.

Lymon = Lyons?
Lymon = Limon?

The amount of thinking I have to do for this exceeds the amount of caffeine I've had in the past few hours. I quit.

fire in Limon means it could burn Kansas down
fire in Lyons means it could burn boulder/longmont down.

Kansas = there's nothing there anyway
Boulder = hippies & libtards

Acceptable loss either way.

Lymon, Lyons, Lakewood, Littleton. Whatever. I had been awake for about 3 minutes.

Basically, if you live some where, check to see if it is on fire.

As I understand it the Lyons one was the controlled burn, and it only got to 2 acres. Don't know why the Left Hand canyon fire started.

220 homes evacuated. Controlled burn my ass.

Looks like the fire thats driving those evacuations is a seperate fire. The controlled burn has been stopped and all the resources pulled off to go to this fire.

Well, I just looked outside and nothing was on fire. [Peep]

Who do they used for a weather forcast? Channel 9? It's gusting up to 40mph up here. [Bang]

National Weather Service provides area forecasts for the fire managers.

channel 9 did a horrible job with the wind forcast this morning, they were saying gusts up to 20 mph. really really???? our hourse was shaking so hard this morning cause of the wind, my 50 pound lab couldn;t even walk outside this morning without blowing over. hope they don't do any fire predictions based on the numbers from this morning...it is still bad out there right now.

I could see the smoke on my way home this afternoon, heading from Byers to Centennial. Was interesting to watch.
And as for the wind.... holy hell. At least out in Byers, it caught me off guard and almost knocked me off the porch a few times, chit was blowing everywhere, it was bad.

Looks like it started around the shooting site.

"When firefighters were first called to the scene by people using the nearby shooting area, the blaze was between one-eighth and one-quarter of an acre, and it was slowly moving downhill. But the winds quickly changed that situaion, Brough said."
