View Full Version : Think I'll Start Another Build Soon
Well, it looks like I am ahead of schedule on my current build. I was hoping to have it completed sometime around October but it looks like it will be done this weekend once I get some sights for it. So.... I think I'll pick up another stripped lower to start my next build. There are just too many different things I want to do and they can't all be done in one rifle. I will probably put a little color on this next build. Maybe some OD green as I still am not a big fan of the FDE tan. Anyways, just thought I would share my thoughts with like minded people who share my love.

Im thinking of starting a couple more myself. I sold off all my ARs and was going to bolt guns. But now I seem to miss having a couple ARs around. Im thinking of an 18 inch truck gun and an SBR.

While I would love an SBR, I just don't feel like going through all the red tape to get one. An 18" build is also on my short "to do" list.

My SBR will be my ultimate home gun. Im going to use a Bazooka brothers .45 lower. SBR it with a 7 inch barrel and a can. I am going to use thiers because it uses grease gun magazines with no adapters. The truck gun willbe a cheaper lower and built up from there. nothing fancyjust an iron sighted super reliable gun.

I am sure I don't really have to say this, but.... if the SBR dream becomes reality don't forget to post pictures. Sounds like a sweet project. Grease gun mags with no adapter sounds like the way to go if you are doing a 45 ACP.

Oh I will post pics when its done. I have tried other pistol caliber stuff but never liked the adapter blocks. I stumbled on Bazooka bros. by accident and when I saw what they make I was sold. Lowers are pricey at 345 but for what I want to do its worth it.

I am not a big fan of the adapter blocks either. If I do a pistol caliber build someday I will definitely spend a few extra bucks for a lower that doesn't use the adapter.

If the .45 comes out the way I hope, I will probably want to do something really different for another one. I was actually thinking of a .357 sig with a 10 inch barrel or maybe even a 10mm. But those would be really custom $$$$$ pieces and probably wont happen.

I've seen or heard of a few 10mm SBR's but I don't think I have ever heard of anyone doing a .357 Sig. If you did the .357 I think that would be a very unique piece.

I have heard of 10mm SBRs too but I dont know what they are using for magazines. I cant think of anything that uses high capacity 10mm magazines. The .45 with grease gun mags is a 30 rd capacity.

I have heard different things about the 10mm mags, I have heard some of them actually use grease gun mags but I don't know if they are modified or not. I have also heard some of them use Uzi mags of some sort. I am not familiar with Uzi's. Do they make a 10mm Uzi?

I dont know if uzi made or makes a 10mm. I think I remember HK made a few MP5 guns in 10mm. Grease gun mags would be nice if it was as simple as a follower change. That project will be a long way down the road. I have a few bolt gun projects I want to do before I go beyond my 2 AR projects
