While still familiarizing myself to the colorado springs area, I've noticed at the two gun shops I've been to, Sportsmans warehouse and Specialty Sports, that their gun inventory seems to be shrinking each time I have made a stop in. Any reasons why? Another question, is there any other decent gun shops in the are worth seeing? Besides looking into entry level AR territory, also looking at bolt action hunting rifles and scopes.
Bravo Arms is a good shop to check out, tactical 30 cal and up, some very nice optics as well and great people. Paradise is also good people, more of the hunting side and used guns.
http://leasurestreasures.com/ Has a lot of old military stuff and guns. Cheaper pistols too a while back.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bravo Arms for more modern fighting rifles. Leasure Treasures Has a great collection of old battle rifles (Krag, 1903, 1917, etc.) and misc. military stuff. Both shops have folks that really know their stuff.
I've only been in Paradise Guns once and left when I heard a salesman tell a customer "Highpoints are just like Glocks but Highpoints won't explode in your hand like Glocks do.". I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Go to Bravo Arms. They are great guys. You will never get customer service like you will from these guys. Great prices as well.

Specialty Sports has some salesmen with an attitude, and prices that are easy to beat, but they sure have a lot of inventory (doesn't seem to be shrinking to me). If you want to go handle a lot of stuff before you buy, give them a look. Find the gun you like, then start the search for the best value.

Specialty has some very knowledgable staff, and some not so knowledgable - however most are pretty friendly....
You gotta remember - they have tons of customers that come in not knowing their A¢¢ from their elbow - - but pretending they do... asking stupid questions over and over and...
If you are respectful and ask questions when you need to - they are quite helpful.
They DO have the largest inventory and I have found some deals on used guns there... I found a gleaming nickel plated S/W Model 19-3 for $375.00!! Sweet.
(Dang near had to pry it outta they guys hand that was looking at it before me with his girlfriend...)
Just remember to wear your RMGO hat...
