Excellent video. This should be a mandatory watch for any firearms owner.
Thanks for posting

I'd prefer it was mandatory for politicians, police officers and DAs.

As a resident of California who worked in the industry (at a range) up until last December I can go on and on and on (and on) about how the laws make no sense. The line in the beginning about renaming semi-auto guns was particularly funny because that's essentially why AR platforms are legal (the ban applied only to specific manufacturers). It's just a bunch of laws passed by people who know nothing about firearms and look good on paper but have no real world effect except to annoy, and sometimes unintentionally make criminals out of the people trying to follow the laws.
I think it's remarkable that California still has such a robust and active community of shooters in spite of all they have against them. At least local and national trends have been good lately. Another odd plus side is that the 10 round limit did wonders for the revolver and 1911 market.
As a further note, the California DOJ is for the most part doing a great job and have personally helped a few people I know from simple questions to incredibly complicated issues.

I posted this on facebook in hopes that the few "friends" will see this. [M2]
Now i'm going to go kiss my AR, Glock and I guess my M1 Carbine since that's technically an assault weapon.

In a letter I sent to that Dragon lady Feinstein. I told her that of all my guns that I own the only one that has ever seen any military action or could be considered a military arm was a 98k mauser that my great uncle brought back from North Africa after WWII. And that is not even a semi automatic gun. Its a bolt action and it holds 5 rounds max.
Its stupid what they say and its sad what people believe. Then they talk about like experts because the only thing they know about it is what dipstick politicians are saying. Even Fox gets it wrong a lot but they usually say people should have guns instead of they all need to be banned.

I've always believed the next civil war in this country will be over the 2nd amendment. It's the right that politicians feel can be restricted through law more than any other right. It's an amendment that acts like a canary in a coal mine. The health of the pact between our government and their willingness to not infringe can be directly seen throughout their dealings with the 2nd amendment. The same stands for state governments.
There are many instances of this type of litmus test found in our countries governments. They are not being taught in k-12 schools, and the understanding, like many others are being forgotten.

Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

it is a good video
I'm kind of disappointed. Lots of scare tactics, but very little actual information. They didn't even present even part of the law. They kept just saying how confusing it was, but didn't actually read it.
I'm sure there have been many lives saved by California's cooling off period.... [ROFL1]
I'll share some of California's laws with you all for those that aren't in the know.
AR15's as demonstrated in the video require the add on to change it from a pistol grip to a stocked rifle. The magazine can hold no more then 10 rounds and the magazine can not be ejected by pressing a button and dropping the magazine. Ar15's in California must have a fixed magazine or a "bullet button" must be installed. The shooter must insert some type of an object (typically a bullet hence the name) and insert it into the lower receiver to cause the magazine to be ejected.
ALL firearm transactions must be done through an FFL including private party. Even private party transactions and gun show sales are subject to the 10 day cooling off period.
The California DOJ will not approve a person to purchase more than 1 handgun in a 30 day period.

And last I heard California wasn't selling fully automatic rifles and RPG's.. The cartels seems to have a steady supply of both.
good video but a complete lack of info , just a bunch of media scary hype stuff. would have been nice to see some number stats , like x number of people killed by "banned " firearms before law and after and also how many of those were purchased legally . i bet the numbers have stayed about the same as most crime/murders seem to be committed buy folks who dont go to the gun store .not the first and wont be the last to say it , most gun laws hurt law abiding citizens and help criminals at the same time .
