I read in papers, net, etc that the economy is getting better in colorado, but I just don't see that, my neighbors are all moving down (cheaper homes in colorado) or moving out. There is a home on sale on every street in my area, and in the ritzy area ($500,000+) every other home is on sale, alot of business space is still for lease.

The reason I ask, is I have a great job offer in las vegas, but want to stay here but I think if I do, I will lose my shirt.

My friend a wise man once said

"Go with what is guarenteed."

Now the economy might be getting better, but it might not. Do you have a guarenteed good job here, nope. Do you have one in Nevada? Yes!

So where are you gonna go? Thats up to you... but i suggest Las Vegas.

I agree with that on go with one in the hand
but there's another factor
do you want to live in Las Vegas?
I do think the economy is getting better, i also think that it's pretty shaky everywhere. IT's a Potemkin Village
But I think that's the way of the world now, no jobs last forever.
I know, no help
I do know the real estate boom errr I mean bubble is cracking

Anytime someone thinks of moving away...I'm all for it!

It helps our economy by creating less pressure for jobs here as well as lessing the burden of sprawl.

Reality:
There are still many more people moving here than leaving.
(There are 250,000 people a year who move to Colorado.)
There is still an outflux of jobs going over seas.
Is the economy getting better??:
More people are flying than before Sept. 11, 2001 as well as;
The DOW is higher than before,
The number of millionaires is at an all time high,
There are millions of more jobs,
Manufacturing has never had more demand,
Walmart just got beat for revenue my Exxon Mobile,
New home sales have still not dropped off and adjusted for the times/population beats the post WWII new home boom.

Amen brother!
Vegas is a hot, dry, nasty place. You better really love the desert scenery & climate. I know two families recently who sold their house, moved to a new job and then left that place within a year. Ouch!

about NV.. my dad moved with my mom to LV from here... (he did it for her as she is becoming less and less tolerable with the cold here in CO)

He said it pretty much sucked.. heat majority of the time and then throw in the wind and sand.. terrible. nasty on cars. not much to do except boat/ fish out at lake mead.

(they went their sepperate ways ) and dad came back here to CO and is quite happy again :)

YMMV
