View Full Version : Lowers in the springs
Any gun stores in the springs carry stripped lowers? Looking to get my first AR and figured I might as well build it how I want it.
Pete's good people.

Yeah, Bravo arms has them. I bought one from them in January. As long as you are going to build one why not just MO one to a FFL? You could get most of your parts then for the lower (the only thing you need to go to the FFL is the lower). AIM Surplus has Spikes lowers for 79.95 (sold out right now but they get some in almost every week) and SAA lowers for 59.95 (in stock). 10 bucks shipping and your FFL dealers charge. My FFL charges $25 for one $35 for 2-4 so for one about $95. The one I got from Bravo Arms was $139.95 + tax. For about the same you could get the lower and LPK. Not knocking Bravo (they are a great people and place, IMHO) but I am a tightwad with money. My FFL is up in Highlands Ranch but there is a few in the Springs that are reasonable as well. My FFL also has me email him my 4473 and he has all the paperwork done for me when I get there, so I don't have to wait around for an hour. Just pay and sign.
BTW I have 2 SSA lowers and the fit and finish seems to be the same as the Spikes lower. Could be made by the same manufacture.
Planned on ordering a Spikes lower from AIM last week. Looked at em one night and decided I'd order one the next day. Checked after work the next day and they were sold out. [Bang] Work schedule prevented me from going to any local shops today so I checked AIM tonight and they have SAA's in stock, so I ordered 2. Figure once I build one for myself my wife will want one so I'll already have the lower in the safe. Ordered everything else for the lower now I just have to figure out what I want for an upper.
