Well, I see a trend already. I suspect most are running some set up of a 1-4x scope with cqb reticle.

I think it would also be pretty safe to assume that they zero somewhere between 200 and 300 yds...

ACOGs are the most common scope out there. TA-11 and TA-01.

irons all the way.......[ROFL1](not really like i have a choice in the matter, to buy a short dot, would mean having an optic thats worth twice what i paid for my rifle on the top of it)

oh well, yeah i did see a trend of 1-4 power scopes
(short dots, and i think I saw a vortex out there too?)
also a couple acogs and even an aimpoint.

S&B Short Dot with a 300 yard zero. Used an ACOG TA-11 previously that worked well may use it again when I get my .308 rifle.

I used a TA11 (3.5x) for a couple of years and it was fine for Pueblo distance. But, it was not enough oomph for my aging eyes down at Raton. Especially since JJ takes great pleasure in putting 400+ yd shots in low contrast/shade situations. Very challenging at times.
I have a 1.25-6x USO in mil/mil that I love (ok, and a JPoint on the side because I'm an Open weanie). 100 yd zero but does it matter? I know my dope for any yardage... Granted dialing mid-stage sucks but that's what the reticle is for.

Very interested in the SB 1-8x and PR 1-8x that will be out this summer although I need another high dollar optic like a hole in the head!

Ken, get Z6i 1-6x24 BRT-I instead. Better scope than PR and SB combined :)

You know, I almost pulled the trigger on the Swaro last year.

After all this LR Tac stuff that I've been doing, I really like having the FFP, Mil reticle/Mil Turret combo in an optic. Even for 3-gun. But, I'll look at it again. I know RogerS. has been looking at them as well.
I love being able to dial to a mid-distance for the types of stages at RockyMtn, then making slight (.1-.2 mil) adjustments in elevation from there.
The Swaro's have beautiful glass for sure and the 1x is true 1x with FOV that goes and goes. It's like looking through a cmore at 1x.

I'm resurrecting this thread to see if there is any more input. I just sold my Eotech and am shopping now for a solution in the $300-$500 range.

Look for a Leupold 1.5-5. An excellent all around choice. I used one for a long time. It is on my elk rifle right now.

I'm betting Hoser says Larue, Midway has some Leupolds on special right now and they had a VXIII 1.5-5 with a German #4 metric for $469.

Yup. LaRue is the way to go.
