Just curious how many rounds you shoot before you need to repair or retire your weapon.
S&W 586 .357 mag......35,000 lost cylinder timing, got lead splatter but it was still accurate....pie plates at 100 yards
Savage 110 .223......40,000 rounds still ticking, still under 1/2 MOA
Marlin 60, .22lr........50,000 rounds, action is just worn out...loose...still shoots less than 1" at 50 yards easily
S&W 39 9mm.....20,000 rounds tight action...poor accuracy 8" plus groups at 10 yards
Ruger P-89 9mm....50,000 rounds...tight, accurate, just looks worn
Ruger KMK-10 Mark II .22lr.......50,000 plus....as good as the day I bought it
Bushy 16" H-bar .223.........50,000 rounds...as good as the day I bough it
Baikal IZH-27 12 ga O/U.....30,000 rounds...starting to loosen up for the better
Taurus 605 .357 mag.....3,000 rounds broke cyliner/yolk parts...repaired good as new
This include Milsurps? I have a couple of Russians, that by the date could have been at Leningrad and Stalingrad.

Marlin makes a good point, I didn't specify if you fired the rounds. All rounds not just since you owned it.
The point of the post was not just to see how much people were shooting, but also to find out when their accuracy deteriorated or something broke.
My primary STI (high cap 1911) in 40 has about 50-60K through it. Replaced the barrel around the 35-40K mark. Still accurate enough, but took an additional 0.4 gns of N320 to make major and the first half inch of the rifling was toast.
One of my 10/22s probably has 30K through it. No problems at all.

I don't keep track as well as I should. I'm a relatively new shooter though, so I really haven't had time to put a lot of rounds through a particular gun.
And I have too many guns.

the only gun I bought new was the 10/22 and that's probably around the 500 mark. the g21 I've shot at least 500 through, and who knows how much was shot before that (not much judging by the condition). The FAL.... ask Marlin.

Only a brick through the 10/22....man that's less than a week for me! Don't you get the itch to keep pulling the trigger or does 100 rounds surfice.

I don't keep track either but I have noticed that the estimates are usually based off of perspective. If it’s a gun that I plan to keep, it has 25k+ round through it. The same gun for sale has less than 500 rounds. That is how it works, right? Because I might sell my Taurus and it only has about 200 round through it.

Another thing to think about in low round count is weapons that are not broken in. Most of my savage rifles took 300-400 rounds to settle down before they started really shooting accurately. My Baikal O/U shotgun took at least 1000 rounds before it wouldn't take 2 hands and some pressure to even open and close. It's around 30k now and it still could use a little more loosening. I'm sure that it will get nice and loose right before it breaks.

I've probably got <1K through my AR-10. I think it's still getting "broken in" as well.
My Armalite M15A4 has several thousand through it, and it's SLICK.
My Marvel .22 conversion took at least 1K to break in. Probably not quite there yet, actually.

The highest round count gun I have is my first 10/22. I bought it in the spring 1978. My best friend and I started hunting prairie dogs that summer. By the following summer we were in full swing shooting 500 rds (a brick) a piece each day we went out. We went out twice a week. This continued through 1980 before he left for the Corps. Call peak shooting season 10 weeks long, and we were out year round but of course didn't shoot that much in the off peak season, that's still 10,000 a summer. For 3 summers. That's a heap.....
I've never had to do any repairs to that rifle. His Marlin Model 60 died in the first couple of months. [roll] He replaced it with a 10/22.
Who knows how many rounds my mil-surps have through them? My Garand was wearing a mostly wore out SA 5-45 barrel when I got it. And my post war Enfield No4mk1 is wearing a brand new South African barrel. How many commies do you have to shoot to wear out a barrel? [50cal]

If it's killin' commies or capable of the same it ain't wore out...

No, no. The South African barrel was brand spanking new under the cosmoline. But that just means the SA's wore out the original Brit barrel on commies.

Hey colorado osprey thanks for the info very informative. I've heard on the shotgun boards how the russian O/U are built like tanks, and wow, you proved it. Sad to see the taurus not do so well.
My Taurus tracker 357 magnum has shot about 5,000 rounds and so far the orange sticker for the front sight blade fell off, cylinder somtimes loses index, rear sight pin is loose and drifts out by itself, grip is worn out. However, still very accurate and trigger pull is better.
My 10/22 is quite old. I have had it at somewher around 25 years... never bothered to count how many rounds went through it....many, many thousands though.
I still love that thing. That was my first gun...
I have a p89 that is probably around 25K without ever having a problem.
