Renting handguns at a range in the Springs

So the wife is interested in something that will fit her hands, and while we can go to the gun shows/specialty sports/Sportsmans Warehouse to handle the guns and get a first impression, I'd like her to actually be able to shoot a little. I've had her out to a range before with friends' guns and she's tried a few .22, .38, 9mm (and a 44 mag, but thats a no go haha) but I'm not sure what she would be comfortable using on a regular basis... So we'd like to find some place that will rent a variety and let us put at least a few downrange. Willing to drive up to Denver if necessary, if that helps too. Then suggestions for a good first time shooters course in town would be awesome too...

Do you need to be a member at Whistling Pines to try things there?

Yes it would require membership, so just find someone who is a member and buddy up for an afternoon with a guest pass.

They also have classes just for women, the website is flaky today but just give a call and I'm sure they'll have the details handy.
