Hey folks,

I'm Active Duty Army, stationed in the Springs, and deployed but positioning myself to get into practical / competitive shooting when I get back. I'm nobody special, just a guy trying to learn more about the AR-15 platform, and one who has found a passion for the art.

If I had to sum it up, I've been curious for a long time about personal ownership but have only recently taken action.

Looking forward to meeting up one of these days,

Chris

Thanks!

Just a little background: I enlisted in TX, but I'm from Missouri. As they say, "Home is where your boots are..."

I love hiking in CO though...

Welcome to the site. I hope that we can help you find the gun that fits you best and help to point you in the right direction for competitive shooting.

Oh Chris, I beg to differ with you on this point. You stepped up to the challenge that serving your country in the military put in front of you. To me, that makes you very special. Thank you very much for your service!

Thanks!

Pick a side! I've got kin in both KCMO / Harrisonville, and along the Mississippi, to include STL [Beer] I grew up with little supervision and plenty of countryside hehe... Oddly enough, though I met my wife in Dallas, we're both from MO. Hers hang around in the STL area.

Thank you for your perspective. I am proud to be a part of the Armed Forces, and even more proud and amazed at the support that the people of this country provide in kind.

For weapons, I purchased an XD(m) .40 Bi-tone 4.5" bbl before I deployed, but I can consider that an impulse buy. Though I do like it, I've committed to using it as my competition weapon. I'm looking at purchasing a S&W M&P 40c (w/ thumb safety) for CCW purposes. When I come home for some Leave, I will have a customized AR-15 from Spike's Tactical waiting for pickup. Going to give that a good workout here in a couple weeks :)
