so every time i take my dog to the park someone starts yelling at me about my dog . The thing is if they did not put the geese in the park my dog would not chase them . so what if she comes back with a mouth full of feathers .The dog is happy so im happy , to hell with those nasty city birds anyway . These people always say the same thing "Its not fair to the geese " , my question is how is it not fair ?
average size of a city french fry eating goose 20-30 lbs (dont forget there are always more than one goose)
size of my dog , 7 lbs ( she is restrained to a leash at all times )
Its not like i go chasing after the dumb as birds with the dog , she has till the end of the leash to catch one and thats it . Hell if any of the birds put up a fight my little dog is toast ! Yes if the dog actually jumps one the back of one i pull her off . But i really dont see the harm in letting my little dog chase a few birds around in circles .

so i guess the question is - is it wrong to let your dog chase city birds ??

It's not the dog that is in question-it's the hand grenades and ammo that it's carrying while chasing the geese [ROFL1] It's just not a level playing field. [Beer]

So when did they become "city geese"

Bad thing I see is if she connects and bird flies off she will need a parachute.

Personally I don't think it's wrong but it is illegal.

Screw em!! It's not like you trained her to do that! She see's them as play toys. Like we do only with a shotgun!

If you tained her to shoot that buck shot at them, then you woluld a rich man and it wouldn't matter!! [Beer]

You could take your goose gun to the park, knock down a few birds and legitimize your dog's intentions.

She's got that "I'm shy but I'm badass shy" look on her face. I say chase away.

Come over to my hood and you can chase them at the local park, doubt anyone over here would say anything, I'd probably pay a couple bucks to watch the show.

They belong to her cousin. She was about to call the police to turn them in.
If she ever catches one, she's going to learn that they taste NASTY!!!

But seriously, be careful, city animal control weinies are constantly getting coached about writing citations (so the city can make money) and "harassing wildlife" is one of the those code violations.

I know, I know... how can a goose articulate that it felt "harassed"?

Tell them you are paid by the park to chase away the geese.

Anyway I live on property adjoining a small river and the village lake. There are geese there almost year round cept when it is just too freakin cold. It is unlawful to harass wildlife in Wisconsin also.

The geese are destructive and shit everywhere. Tell those tree huggers that you have to clean up after your dog in the park. And if they are so fond of the geese they should clean up after them.

They have wings they can fly away, tell anybody who gives you shit to piss off. In the place I work the Geese waldel they fast asses across the street if they don't get out of the way oh well am not slowing down. There are more geese here now then there were 10 years ago, and mulitpy like crazy

There are geese at the park where I take my dogs all the time. We let them off the leash and 2 of the 4 go chasing after them. These geese are always watchful and my dog has a long stretch to run after them, so they always take off with plenty of time. I don't see it as a huge problem because it's a school field and they shit everywhere anyway, so I figure I'm just helping out the district ;)

That would be fun to watch! A small yippy dog running with all she's got wanting to catch a goose. Not sure if she would know what to do with it if she caught it!

Too bad molesting wildlife is frowned upon. I agree there are too many of them around, pooping on the golf courses and all.

The gf's pit won't chase the geese unless encouraged, however the little sissy dog does so w/o a thought.. maybe it's napoleon complex in dogs as well?

I hate those geese. So friggin' much.

Let that dog chase them as much as they want. Any person who sides with those vile creatures needs to get bit in the ass and shit on by a couple of them.
