I'm wondering if any of you shooters have undertaken the construction of a "shooting shack" on your own property?
I live in unincorporated Larimer County, but we're nestled in an enclave of 200+ homes nearby. I am entertaining the building of a range shack that would squelch/suppress enough of my muzzle blast so as to be able to shoot on the property while not disturbing the surrounding neighbors. I've got enough stretch on the east flank to get a 100 yd target burm.
Most likely .308 / 8mm / 7.62x54 for the largest rifle calibers, and of course I'd like some closer handgun burms as well for the usual 9-10mm/ .38 / .45 ACP.
This is perhaps slightly off-topic, but I felt this was the most appropriate place to post a Q on the subject.
Any references, techniques, experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
