For those of you that are signed up for this class why don't you chime in and maybe we can get some dialog going on what to expect?

Hi Richard,
That is a good idea! I'm going to email Rob Pincus and John Brown to see if they would like to chime in. I'm sure they are extremely busy but maybe they have a minute to stop buy.

Yes it is still on and we are at the numbers we need. I'll email you some new information on regestering as ICE has changed up the process in the past couple weeks. Let me know if you get my email. Thanks!

Not sure on camping spots but I think you can camp in the grasslands just about anywhere. Do you need a place to stay or are you just wanting to campout?

Maybe someone can contact a local hotel and get a group rate for the co-ar15 club members that will attend. Just a thought.

I'll look into this. I will email everyone signed up and see who needs a hotel. I'm thinking a hotel by I-25 and highway 14. They we can just head down 14 as it takes you to the range(25 minute drive) Sound like a good idea?

Guys I sent an email about hotel needs to everyone I think. Let me know if I got everyone and what your needs are and I'll get to work on it. Thanks again everyone! Chris

I kinda want to camp. I guess there is a camp ground close by, but I prefer to just throw up a tent near the range for free if it is NF land. If anyone else is up for this let me know.

Hi Mike,
So far it looks like you are the only one needing a hotel so we probably won't get a discount unfortunetly. I'll let you know this coming week on a good place to stay. What price range would you like to be around? You can email me this if you like. Thanks!

I would camp with you but I have a 2 year old son I have to pick up at night so grandma can get some rest....lol.
I could ask the range owner if he would be ok with you camping on the range grounds. I think it is about 2,000 acres. Let me know if you would want to do that. Thanks!

There is still a few open slots and one filled today. We are right at 8 students. Rob Pincus is teaching the 1st 2 days(pistol drills and some carbine) and John Brown is teaching most of the carbine stuff on the 3rd day.
Sounds like the faster we move and catch on the more drills and advanced stuff we will get to do. This is my 1st carbine class so I will try to keep up with you guys.....ha ha ha ha!!!

I was also thinking we could meet in the morning at Rocky Mountain Shooters Supply (HW14 and I25) and carpool to save gas. I'm responsible for target stands and some other gear so I'll have my truck loaded up but I could fit a 2nd person and maybe someone else who might have extra room in their vehicle could take a couple folks. Any Suburban owners?

Maybe we can all go to dinner in Fort Collins after the class one evening. Maybe Applebees or something? We can BS and talk about the training.

It would be great if I could camp there at the range.

For those of you who don't know Rob has produced a great video series on shooting self defense and it is what the NRA uses as their Personal Firearm Defense DVD Series. From the videos I've watched he seems like a great instructor.
Here's a youtube clip I found.

What's our ammo count going to be?

Blowby

No Hotel options? So everybody is driving up to Pawnee daily? What about the instructors? It's about a 2 hour drive for me each way so I was thinking about staying closer to the range.

Bring 1,200 rounds for you pistol and 1,000 for your carbine. ICE said if you are agressive, that amount of ammo should be enough to keep you goping. I bought 24 boxes of Federal from Wal-Mart for $10.47 a box for a total of around $250. Best deal on 5.56/.223 besides Wolf I founds was 1,000 rounds of Federal XM193 for $296 shipped to my door from Palmetto State Armory. Jensen Arms in Loveland has PMC brass 5.56 for $311 a case of 1,000. Even with shipping it was cheaper from PSA.

I did not even think about where the instructors will be staying. I'll email ICE and ask and maybe you could stay where they plan on. Rob and crew travel so much I bet they already have places lined up. We will work something out for you either way....talk soon!

Chris thanks for make the class happen!

And Sam thanks for running the AK I learn a lot from just watching you.

Yeah, training was incredible! The Combat Focus program is so far ahead of anything else I have seen. It was great to meet everyone and I truly enjoyed training with all of you. I'm about half way through cleaning up all my gear and everything if full of dust and sand. Remember to take your mags apart and clean them too. My mags had tons of dirt in them. My Glock 17 was brand new for this class but it is nice and broken in now(1,300) round later).
I had it lubed with the Slip 2000 EWL and it shows very little wear on the barrel finish. My Glock and XCR were still will nice and wet at the end of class. Let me know how you guys like the samples I gave you when you get a chance to use it.
I'd like to thank everyone again for attending and it would be great if we could keep intouch and maybe get together to train in the neare future. I'll try to get the pictures down loaded and resized soon and get them emailed to everyone. Some of the pictures came out awesome.....you guys look like bad asses....LOL.[Beer]

Here are a bunch of pictures from class. Pistols consisted mostly of Glocks but there were some Sigs, an M&P and a Ruger P94. Some really nice AR's for the carbine class with a Robinson XCR and Sam had the loan AK47. Rob, Jeremiah and John were a lot of fun and were incredible instructors. Boy, do they know their stuff! I'd say all of us came out much better shooters with a lot of new skills. Enjoy the pictures:
