Congrats! If you don't mind, what was the time-line on this? I'm doing a Form 1 individual right now.

A friend of mine waited 42 days for 3 cans. Registered privately, although he was in Alaska. (but that shouldn't matter)

Did you buy a new barrel or hack off a 16"?

i got a new upper that was 11.5", so i didn't hack up a 16". i sent it in mid january and got it beginning of april, so around two and a half months. they cashed my check though like a week and a half or two weeks after i sent it in. doesn't that means its approved? i mean they wouldn't cash the check if they determined something was wrong with the form would they? seemed kinda odd to me. anyways, now im just waiting on my suppressor stamp. hopefully it doesn't take forever.

Pretty good turnaround.

There's someone out there with a comprehensive database of "examiners" and their turnaround times, don't know who your's was, but 2.5 months is a good turnaround.

And they would absolutely cash your check/deposit it. It's policy that any funds received be accounted for in that manner, the money is deposited and credited to you. A federal check gets cut BACK to you in case of denial. I don't know if they run a criminal check on you first, but I would imagine they do it the same way in either case.

A cashed check means nothing as far as an approved transfer goes. Your paperwork first goes to a bank that pulls the check and deposits it, then the rest of the paperwork is sent to NFA. (From The Machine Gun Dealers Bible)

I just got a Form 1 (trust) back on Sat. Sent first week of Jan. So right under 3 months. They always cash the check almost immediately upon receipt, then the wait starts.
