There's nine guys on the ballot, anyone know of a summary of who they are and what they stand for?

The worthless gazette is worthless, with a crap format that will wear out my mouse finger trying to compare the candidates.

Most of the candidates website say the same fluff mission statements, and you can't find out the political party of any of the candidates on any of the websites.

I'd vote for a communist if he'll at least admit to it over any democrat no matter who they are. Best candidate for the job my ass, I'll vote for the party of stupid (R) every time over anyone willing to associate themselves with the party of evil (D).

Yeah, I'm in the same boat.

The mail-in ballots are due in the mail tomorrow and I'm lost as to who to vote for.

Its only one small piece of the puzzle, but you can read the mayoral candidates (and council candidates) responses to the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition questionnaires here

http://www.ppfc.org/elec2011.htm

I tend to see a politicritter's Second Amendment positions as a bit of a litmus test for their political beliefs in general.

For reasons that I don't understand The PPFC is endorsing Bach (when Bahr clearly had the better answers to their questions).

My general feeling about Bach is that he's your typical "traditional" Republican (read: milquetoast) and Bahr is more the "tea party" candidate ... but frankly as long as Skorman doesn't win I don't care which of the other candidates takes it (Skorman and Munger are the liberals in the race ... note that they didn't even respond to the PPFC).

For what its worth I'll be voting for Bahr. Skorman will win the election but with less than 50% +1 of the vote so there will be a runnoff between him and the second place candidate. You can visit Bahr's site (http://www.springsmayor.com/) and see if you like what he's saying (the "issues" page outlines his positions).

Also I'll be voting for the "Reform Team" (http://www.reformcityhall.com/) for council at large (well except for Ed Bircham ... sorry, but I've had business dealings with him and as such don't trust him in the slightest ... probably wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire). Douglas Bruce is a dick, but he's probably the most pro-constitution, limited government politician to walk the earth since Jefferson.

I voted for brian bahr.

My Mom loves local politics, went to the debates and met all the candidates. she liked bahr the best.

IIRC the city charter requires mayoral races to be "non partisan"

I voted for Bach. My next door neighbor is really into politics and even hosted a neighborhood social for the candidates to meet people. She is a conservative Republican and so I listen to her. She recommended Bach.

Always been my exact take on him too - which is why this dick always gets my support.

Well it looks like its going to be Bach vs Skorman.

I still fail to see why conservatives like Bach over Bahr, but Bach's a good guy and I'll support him over Skorman (I'd support a schizophrenic hobo over Skorman)
