View Full Version : Do the wheels I received look better than the wheels I ordered?

Wheels I actually ordered in bottom picture.
I need to get the black center caps I ordered they shipped with the chrome colored centers and I don't like them. Also the advertized wheels do not have black around the rim. And even more strange I did not notice the difference til I took these pictures. Whats your opinion on the difference with the black edge instead of the machined edge?

I will be putting on a OME 3.5 inch lift kit with a body/motor lift in a few weeks but bought the tires & wheels first. 255/80r17 KM2 and Raceline Renegade wheels.

I am still not sure I like the wheels I had hoped the silver would be a little less shiny. But that's what you get ordering wheels over the internet

The wheel you ordered looks better with the silver edge and would add a nice contrast to the black in the tires imho. But the problem of coarse is trying to exchange them. It will look good when you lift it.

I think they look fine.
And as previously stated, good luck trying to exchange them.
Once mounted, you are pretty much hosed unless there is a manufacturers defect. Variation in coloring or shading and all of that other disclaimer stuff.

We can always powder coat em.

Now you just need some serious bumpers. we make em.

The wheels look good to me. I would've gone all black but that's me! Oh please don't put on a big body lift...they're terrible, causing lots of body roll on/off road. The OME 3.5 will be nice, they make good stuff. Nice jeep BTW[Beer]

Had no intention of dismounting and returning especially for the price I paid for them. It is a moot point already as I just got off the phone with the manufacturer and they are only offered with the black edge. They had failed to update their website marketing photo. But I will be getting the black center caps.

I mostly find it funny that I had not noticed til I took these pictures. Besides in no time the edge will be silver from rock rash.

and here I was going to ask him if his cute little jeep came with a Ken-Doll [ROFL1]

(Seriously might consider adding some suspension to it.)

Yeah to much lift on jeeps causes the drive shaft to hit in someplaces when frame twists, a small lift is OK.

Might as well go with bead locks plus they take all the rock rash and save the rim!!

Um, don't waste your money and put a body lift on at all. Put a suspension lift on it. Rubicons are awesome, the wrangler went away from the solid axles and make them junk. A 3" lift will serve you well, got me up and down bangs canyon many a time in my old 86'. The wheels look great, but doesn't matter now anyway because you mounted them and can't give them back. Nice jeep by the way.

It sounded like you were ok with the waste of money in a body lift. Hence the quotation. That's all, just sharing my opinion.

Gotcha. I was just saying no to a big body lift. Me personally I wouldn't do the body lift but I know on some vehicles small body lifts aren't bad. I'm a Toyota guy, hence my pic I posted, so I really know nothing about jeeps except:
Just

Why are you worried what the rims look like? A PROPER jeep is covered in mud up to the windshield.... Go get it dirty.

Fundamental problem with the body lift is some of the body armor (Skid plates) I am interested in require a body lift. The skid plate from Rokmen in particular. I am not entirely opposed to a small body lift from a functionality point of view but if you were to ask me from an aesthetics point of view I would tell you I hate them with a passion.

That being said it is amongst the things all my imaginary friends and multiple personalities are fighting about in my head constantly. You should hear them argue.

I like the chrome center caps better myself.

and if you drive your jeep right, you will have a nice silver finish on the outer edge of the rim in no time. just give your wheels a...ah...rim job![ROFL1]
