SPRINGFIELD, Ill.— The Illinois Supreme Court says people permitted to carry guns in other states may transport them here without an Illinois license. (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-il-gunpermits,0,3451638.story)

The court ruled unanimously Thursday in the case of an Indiana resident who was arrested in May 2005 with a gun in a closed backseat armrest of his car.

Leonard Holmes was charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of weapon because he lacked a Firearm Owners Identification card and didn't have the gun in a case.

Holmes had a permit to carry a concealed firearm in Indiana, and the court held that Illinois law does not require a FOID card too. It also ruled the armrest served as a case.

This was always a concern for the hour we spent driving through to the annual family trip in Kentucky.

New York and New Jersey still will throw you in prison for that. Maybe other NE states as well.

He may have won but he's penny-less now. He didn't go to jail or pay a fine but he's out Big Bucks defending himself. I just hope he had some help.

Having lived amongst the Yankees for 20 years, I can verify that Chinese occupation of the entire NorthEast would be an improvement. Albany, Boston, Trenton, and Chicago run their regimes worse than the Commies. I hate Commies, but I can guarantee that the billions of Chinese used to occupy the NorthEast will renounce Communism within a month of settling in. After all, Communism means that everyone gets paid the same whether they work hard or not, and every Chinese immigrant I've met worked over 70 hours a week to earn as much as possible.

Chinese occupation of the NorthEast would improve the rest of the country, and they will start manufacturing AKs and sell them really cheap.

If only it were that easy. Every been to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine? Very pro-gun there!
