Howdy John, I was wondering if there were any plans for a informal club shotgun shoot ? Is it possiable to get some of the group to leave the AR's in the car or truck for a couple of hours to polish up those shotgun skills ? I for one could use a shotgun demo, clinic, or just some good ol plain advice on tacical, home defence, or anything else that a fellow member could show me. If that's too just much to ask, I would go just for a fun shoot. I'd be willing to help anyway I can to get something going. Please let me know. Thanks, Larry

I dont' know about forest lands (HunterCo, do you know?), but trust me, sporting clays is a blast.
golf with guns.
lots of smack talk
lots.
Plus, many places have trap and skeet fields, where if you want to learn to shoot better, you want to start on one of those.

Doesn't anyone know who John Thomas Rourke is?

For years, like millions of other Americans, John Thomas Rourke had planned for what seemed inevitable -- the destruction of civilization. There were various possible causes: global economic collapse, some uncontrollable pestilence, a world famine -- or nuclear war.

And the rumbling signaling the coming of Total War was becoming increasingly strong as Rourke, ex-CIA Covert Operations Officer, weapons expert, and survival authority, made his last desperate gambit to save his estranged wife and two children before the button was pressed, the missile launched, the multi-megaton bombs loosed.

Here then is the story of the ultimate war, the final nuclear holocaust and the unrelenting quest of John Thomas Rourke as he begins his search across war-ravaged America, following every haunting clue, however fragmentary, to locate his missing family. There are Soviet occupation troops, lawless murderous brigands, and vast uncharted nuclear deserts to block his way. John Thomas Rourke has no option but to go on -- he is the Survivalist.

Now I understand why you have that screen name. Good one!

Ok, not sure what it has to do with our shotgun day on June 3rd or 10th, nor that I should really admit this. But I'm BozemanMT everywhere else. I signed up with that one here and accidentally typed in the wrong email address for the confirm letter to go to.
oppps

so, I had to come up with a new name, and I was busy reading those trash novels. (i have most of them if someone is interested) and so, tada.

We can shoot clays on forest service land it is not illegal I know there was a thread about it being considered littering. I have shot thousands of clay over the years and never had forest service say anything to me.

The best thing to play it safe would be to buy the biodegradable clays they are a little more expensive but no much.

I say if we have just a shotgun fun shoot we do it at a sporting clay range.
