I tried to help out....

But it takes about two years to get through all the hoops to be a HS instructor.

Which I think is BS. But what do I know.

yea thats the problem is no where nearly enough instructors, they should have classes every weekend or everyother weekend in every major city, as it is they are way over booked months in advance

Co.DOW has instructors who teach the Hunter Safety Courses through Sportsmens Warehouse. In addition, you have an online course option. This is an excellent option because it allows you to take two days worth of material online and then you only have to spend a Saturday finishing it at the store and the range.

man I can t belive you have to take a hunters education course if you born after 48 .MAN ALIVE I dont get this state youed think with repblicans run the state there would be less rules , Man was I wrong .In Oregon last I checked you had to be over 18 then ya did nt need one .I' ve been hunting my whole life, now I gotta take a class, and whats up with the wearing orange, and the limmited places to shoot ? I wonder what there going to throw up when I go to buy a gun ? Man this place is different ,I thought Oregon was bad but now who knows ,They were liberal, but with guns and hunting as well ,Idont get it.

hold on there pardner!!!

...Note: If you have a valid hunter education card/certificate from another state, and it can be verified, it will be honored in Colorado. Certifications from other countries may also be accepted. For more about this, see the "Proving HE Course Completion" section of the HE Card Replacement Page....

OK sorry about going off there. sometimes the culture shock and the presure can really get to a guy as well it hard to get out and meet people with the snow,so ya feel like an island in a sea of people,my last town had 70k people,so you lean to whats familiar, I did nt plan on hunting this year I was just going to go look around, scout it out. I was suprised that you all did not have any general season elk ,or deer licenses.and that you had to put in for controled tags everywhere in the state . It makes a guy feel like a fish out of water.I guess it will all become normal after a while .
