As much as I hate to do it I think my dogs needs to be neutered. He is marking a lot in our house and we have had enough. He just turned 2. He didn't do it much before but my dads dog came over and pees in like 6 spots and now my dog is doing it.

Anyways how much did you guys pay to get it done and where. The local vets have said anywhere from 180-250 and I think that is easy too much

That's not out of line for a vet at all. There are a lot of groups that do lower cost though; I got my last pet snipped at Spay2Day, and they did a good job. Here's a link for them:

http://spay2day.org/denver-spay/services/

I also do work with Maxfund, and would recommend them for the work

Try the MaxFund at 303-595-0532...that's their spay/neuter clinic number.

You can also go HERE (http://www.petsmartcharities.org/people-saving-pets/act/spay-neuter-programs.html) for a searchable database of low cost spay/neuter clinics.

ETA: Looks like ghettodub beat me to the MaxFund recommendation.

Maxfund told me 62 and the other was 70. huge difference.

I used the LuLu mobile spay/neuter clinic. It cost me $50 and a little driving to meet in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon.

These guys did AWESOME, it was fast, friendly and hassle-free. It was a little bit of a pain in the ass finding the location that the Mobile was going to be at, and getting there early enough to get a good spot in line. I was a little late the first time I took him, so I got a voucher for priority for the next one.

We have too many dogs. So we have definitely done the research.

The building doesn't look like much but the care is excellent!

You can always check with the human society near you, often times they are cheaper than what a vet would charge.

I had my cat spayed at the human society of longmont (or boulder, can't remember, lol) and it was $50 (half the fee of adoption). My dog came pre-spayed too, but that adoption fee down here in Ruidoso, NM was only $65, so very cheap.

I called them a bunch and never got any returned calls. I went with Hermosa off of Federal and south of I-76. It's a first come first serve clinic so get there early if you choose them. I had one of my dogs snipped, a tumor removed, chipped and something else for around $200.

Are you calling during regular business hours?
Try again.. They are there.

Don't spend $200!

Planned Pethood is awesome. I drive all the way down there from Highlands Ranch as the prices around my area are ridiculous.

Denver Dumb Friends League has a mobile spay/neuter clinic. $25. We've had a couple cats done there and have no complaints. It also included their first shots. But call ahead to find out where they are, and then plan to show up early. First in-First done, and they can only do a fixed-number of animals per day.

There's a place like the above mentioned right up on the north side of Ft Lupton. Same kind of deal; inexpensive but you have to get there early. I'll get the name from the wife when she get's home later and post if for you. I think you're in the same neck of the woods as me, so it's only about 15 minutes away.

thanks guys, I will try to get it scheduled somewhere for when I get home this week. hopefully friday.

GF, yeah if you can get the local one I would really appreciate it!

I feel bad getting his nuts cut off but the marking has got to stop and it will help him out in the long run when our baby comes in october.

Yes I called during business hours. Actually called for months as I was delaying the procedure. Anyway the $200 I spent at Hermosa was more than just a neuter! The neuter was below $100 IIRC.

This is what we did with our little male and it was $40 and they did a fantastic job. They have a truck that rolls around just snipping pups and you show up where they're going to be and it's a quick and simple procedure so to pay $250 to me seems silly. Your dog will live longer and be healthier so sooner the better IMO.

The mobile one (not sure if it's THE one they were talking about, but the one I did) is the LuLu Mobile. Go to www.ddfl.org (http://www.ddfl.org) and click the link for LuLu Mobile. $50 bucks for my dog, he was about 60lbs at the time.

My Ex-wife will do it for free, From experience though she prefers to crush them slowly over a long period of time... likely to leave deep emotional scars as well...
