Anyone else shoot one or hunt with one? I just got a new one and it's making me get the itch early this year. I wonder what's the chances of getting a bow forum going here. I'm a member of several already but I would rather talk to a couple of guys here, than a thousand from the East coast. Just saying.....

Am one, I'm a lazy hunter though, I go to just get out of town. Maybe this year I'll take it serious and get up at 4am and go out with the guys instead of sleeping in.

I shoot traditional only though, so a compound forum wouldn't be of any interest to me.

I have and love my Bowtech Tomkat. I just got a like new Bowtech Diamond Black Ice. It's a long story but it was my buds and then it belonged to a member here and now it's mine. It's a bad ass bow. I took it tonight and tightened it all up and it is shooting very good. I can't wait to make just a tune up here and there and it will be better than my Tomkat!! Damn, I'm glad winter is over!

what no PSE love?

I started shooting in the earily 70's after a tour of the PSE factory in Arizona. Ordered and picked up a Laser Magnum from the factory. Everybody remember shooting Easton XX75 Game Getters?

Years later I had a few Martins, Bear and a High Country bow. Around 1990'ish I noticed my original PSE limbs were delaminating. I took it to one of the mobile PSE tour trucks and asked them what I could do or if I needed new limbs etc. They took down my info.
Didn't hear anything for about 3 months. Thought they forgot. Then Big Brown arrived!
I didn't get new limbs as all new limbs were not compatible with my riser. They send me a NEW Laser! At the time it was PSE's fastest bow and retailed for $900!!

I was so sold on PSE customer service that I only now own PSE bows.
I currently shoot an exclusive PSE Thunder Flight.

I don't think I am going to be buying a new bow any time soon.
I don't like the short axle to axle due to it's non-forgiving nature on longer shots.
(these are built for short range tree stand hunting)
I don't like single cam bow tuning.
I don't like today's bows with their very short brace length.

I know, I know.. all that new technology that is supposed to make it fast.
Well... sure, but my old 1990's PSE is shooting the same speed as the new bows without the things I don't like... I just have to pull back 80lbs with only a 60% let off.

Do any of you guys ever shoot at the park at Morrison Road and C470? I forget what it's called. Maybe Bear Creek??? Mot Sure.

I love to shoot. I have owned many different branded bows. PSE, High Country, Matthews, Bear (back in the day), and some I cant remember. I dont get up to the hills to bowhunt much now. But, still love to shoot here at 3Ds and such.

However because of where we live we don't have to go to a range, it's in the yard [Coffee]

Have a couple of The Block, and several 3d targets. our own little range in realistic settings.

In a couple of weeks when we are in full spring time, we should get together for a shoot. The place at C470 and Morrison Road is a pretty good spot.

Mods, how about an archery forum?

what no PSE love?
.

You mean Pull, Shoot and Explode?
I had one that the limbs started to de-lam. I ended up picking up a Martin and never looked back. Shot it everyday after work and picked up the oldest boy one. We were just getting ready to start hunting and the wife and I got rear-ended by a DUI and as a result tore up my shoulder. Doc said no more pulling a bow so that came to a crashing (literally) halt.
I miss it.

You keep your eyes open in the pawn shops and you can get a pretty good deal. A buddy picked up a barely used Solo Cam for 400.00 a couple of years ago.

I shoot quite a bit. I got a martin cheetah a year and a half ago. I ended up getting my first deer with it last sept. BTW, Tanglewood is awesome. Their "dart system" is awesome practice for hunting. It taught me a lot. Anyone here shoot up at Big Thompson Bowhunters near loveland?

I think Loveland Archery Exchange has the dart system too.

OK, I (Scott) started 20+ years age when my dad talked me into trying archery season out. I saved all summer, bought the bow, he got me a years membership to the range near the house. I got into field archery and then 3-D (it was just starting at that time), and since there weren't many 12 yr olds competing at National Championships, I earned a few titles. Bows kept me out of drugs and other juvenile distractions (illegal ones anyways), and my hours spent hanging out in bow shops got me a job in college at an archery shop. I was VP of the local range, shooting for first PSE (Pieces Scattered Everywhere) and later Hoyt on their National Staffs. Shot 6-7 shoots a month, every ASA/IBO qualifier and world shoot possible. Placed 32nd at National Field Championships in '06, couldn't make it to the other team trials. Now shooting just for fun, when I want (not spare minute of every day as needed to be competitive).

And yes....I shoot a MATHEWS!!!!

That's what I'm talking about. If we got together and had a shoot, my dumbass might learn something from you guys. Plus we should have some fun. I still think the mods should start up an archery forum. It can't hurt nothing.

The only drawback to the outdoor range at C-470 and Morrison is that you have to pay to enter the park. its only like $6 which is cheaper than any other range but it still kind of sucks to have to pay.

The good thing is they charge by the vehicle. It's always at least me and my buddy and sometimes there are 3 of us. 2 or three bucks each isn't bad. Then if it's summertime you can go down to the beach and check out the bikinis or go fishing!
