Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. I've got a buddy that has been asked to trade his Suzuki Samurai for a DPMS AR-15. I'd like to know if it's worth around $1,200. I know it's tough not knowing what type the red dot is, I'm just doing the research. Maybe the guy is on this forum.

It's a dpms, .223, all black, flat top with Picatinny Rail, standard adjustable stock, I installed a Picatinny Rail on the underside of the front stock that has a forward grip, and it has a 50mm red dot scope on it. I still have the original case. Even the new mags are still in the plastic cases. It comes with a brand new dpms hard case, all papers/stickers/badges, sling, oil, and two mags (30rd each, still in plastic). Its never been been used or taken out of my house. I built it to have a close range weapon (read zombie/home invader) and the red dot scope I have on it is very nice (11 different settings).I got a nice tax return in 09 so I bought it, built it and then stuck it back in the safe. Never used, or fired.

Thanks for whatever you can offer.

The general discussion thread would have been a good place to post this issue.

It sounds like the rifle is a DPMS Lite carbine and is probably worth $800ish retail. From the description, he has a bolt-on rail on the bottom of the stock plastic handguard and a cheap 50mm reddot (possibly a Barska?). Those additions might add another $20-30 but not much.

Additional info and pictures would greatly help.

I would have your buddy ask for some ammo or 300 cash along with the gun
