I am considering buying or renting a dry pack canner for some of my prepping items. Would any one here be interested in canning. Some ideas would be canning ammo, rice, beans, or an emergency kit. The cost is estimated at about $1 to $2 per can. This cost would cover the can and the sealing.

There's some mylar bag info in the survival section. That might be a better way to go if you haven't thought about that option.

I have 5gal buckets with mylar, the problem is in rotation. If I want some pasta, I have to open a 5gal bucket rather than a #10 can.

That is one of the reasons I use #10 can size Mylar bags then pack in boxes. I am getting ready to have a Mylar party soon.

I just got started with Mylar and oxygen absorbers. I would gladly take part in a cannery and/or mylar event. It would give me an opportunity to get to know some folk in the club, which I've been aiming to do. I also hope it would help me identify any potential problems I may have adopted in my self-taught mylar adventure.

We eat out so much... I am not sure if there is such thing of rotating ours.
