A month or so ago, some Congressmen from Louisiana introduced HR.5013 and S.2599, which amend the Stafford Act (the law governing what Uncle Sam does with disasters.)
What these bills do is essentially prevent confiscation of lawful firearms during states of emergency.
I think this one is worth writing our congresscritters about. Beauprez and Allard have co-sponsored them, and IMHO deserve a thank-you note. Tom Tancredo may have as well, I'm not sure. Salazar and Udall have not. Maybe they won't, but if we put enough pressure on them we might be able to keep them from opposing the bills, at least.
