was considering buying one of these, and was wondering what you guys think of these rails?
I think that they look cool along with the general interchangeability of the rail sections...
Do you think that they're worth 180 bucks?
Anybody have experiences, good or bad with this series of rails? if so, I'd love to hear it.
thanks,
Kenny

I could have bought 2 for the price of my DD light. They are nice. I will be buying one for my SPR and maybe 14.5 build coming up. Bowers has some in stock.

Sweet. If bowers has a couple then I might have to make a trip to check em out sometime soon. Ive been craving one of these since I saw one on one of Kyle Lambs guns.
thanks,
Kenny
I like mine. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. In fact, I might pick up another one soon.

It's a sweet rail! One tip though, use a scope mount or something of the like to bridge the upper and the top rail of the TRX to get everything lined up then torque the two bottom bolts. I got mine at Bowers[Beer]

Both my rifles have TRX Extreme 9" rails on them, and my SPR upper I'm thinking about building will have a 15". You can't beat the price or the lightweight. It's an awesome rail.

I personally like the look of the VTAC better than the TROY. But I am not sure how the VTAC would hold IWC components with the long holes (sliding/not staying in place). They are both manufactured by the same, just different look and VTAC is a tad heavier.
If you want to spend more money for the same thing DD just came out with the MFR rail that looks/performs the same. I would buy the troy/VTAC unless you have a money tree at home or its burning a hole in you pocket.

Samson rails are something I'm interested in, as they claim to be slightly lighter and priced similar to Troy.

I was wondering the same thing.
I like VTAC version of he rail better than the troy, just because of the longer holes. (more adjustablilty and versatility in my mind. kinda like a JP Free Float)
in theory, recoil may make the bolts on rail sections come loose, but you would think that wouldnt happen with a VTAC product?
Just food for thought.
thanks,
Kenny

That's why man invented loc-tite[Awesom]
I think the Troy version looks better myself, and may have better lock-up with the attachable rails. These are very light compared to quad rails. Some people have reported they can get pretty warm when you are rapid firing though.
The mounting system looks very simple and minimalist- probably how they saved so much weight!
