It may not be yours, but just in case it is, keep your little pecker off the corner of my house!!! One of those ##!*%# things has been pecking at the corner of my house early every morning (right at the master bedroom) for the last month or so. [Bang]

Wood peckers are cool, but damnit they're destructive and SO annoying!

i was going to do something similar using one of my environmental sound dampers. HOWEVER i found out the damn peckers are "protected" under some statue.

Saw a report on the news that these wood peckers were also going at people's houses. Glad yours is only at a tree so far.

Our next door neighbors have some that return every year and peck a hole in the same spot in their siding that they repair every winter.
We just sit in our brick house and laugh.

You better be nice to your little pecker! Those guys are pine beetle eating machines. So, don't go and choke the poor thing. [Spank]

I purchased a little cap gun, kept it by my window for the little fucker who'd start drumming @ 5:30am, worked pretty well. I then just purchased this Scare Spider and that did the trick. The moment he drums the spider drops and makes noise no more fuckers I mean peckers.
Fake owl in the tree should do it as well.

Your little pecker needs to be shot, its pecking a hole on my house to. I like the idea of wasp spray. Blind the little prick. Missed it with the Judge last weekend. [Bang]

The bird is just looking for some food. If they're pecking a hole in the same spot, there are insects there for them. If they're making a hole in your house (been there, done that), spray the area with some insecticide to kill the bugs. The birds will leave as soon as the food source dries up.
We tried fake owls; they were no help at all, though I've heard they do work for some.

I have a full auto 6mm airsoft MAC 10 for the annoying critters in my life! Last year I had a bunch of yellow jackets take shelter in a mud wasp nest above my garage. I lite in to it for about 2 or 3 seconds and problem solved![UZI]works on pretty much anything in my back yard without killing everything or breaking windows.

They also "drum" to attract mates.

My parents have had serious issues with many species of woodpeckers since my dad had the house built.
The fake owls (even those with motion sensors that hoot when motion is sensed) did absolutely no good.
You can only shoot so many of them and you'd better know which species you're shooting at since many are federally protected.
I like the idea of the scare spider since it combined motion with the sound it produces.
I REALLY like the idea of the wasp spray.
Good luck. I've lost more sleep to noisy woodpeckers in my life than I have to an amorous spouse.

If you're going to shoot 'em, live by the rule of 3-S we have out this way:
1) Shoot
2) Shovel
3) Shut up
All kinds of troublesome critters fall victim to this rule out here in ranch country.
