Is filing a legit way to reduce front sight height? Any suggestions for restoring a hard matte black finish? (it has a "black oxide" finish at the moment).
This is for a set of Warren Tactical Sevigny sights on a G34. With the "point of aim/point of impact" taller-than-usual front sight post, I'm about an inch low at 10 yards, or so. Confirmed from the bench. I probably should have bought the .215" sight to begin with, instead of the supposedly POA/POI .245" sight they offer.
Hoping y'all have some insights.
ETA: Apparently, I'm right to have been confused: http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?65931-Sevigny-Carry-Front-Sight-Height&p=906869#post906869
