We don't have a fishing forum, so figured this can go in here.

anyone been to either lake yet recently? I am heading up with a couple buddies friday and saturday.
I know the weather is supposed to not be that great and a bit cold, but we will take the boat and hit spinney, maybe elevenmile if it is better.
saturday we will probably hit up antero and see what we can do from the shore since the boats aren't allowed yet.

what have you been using? is a boat necessary or is shore fishing working fine?
I'll update with some pictures...at least landscape, but hopefully some fish pictures when we return!

I'm jealous I been trying to find the time to go do the exact same thing!

Yeah great and I'm like 1200 miles away. Might as well be a buzillion.

Just watch that stupid wind at Spinney Mtn. The bigger fish have always liked the bigger spinners like Panther Martins and Big spoons. Enjoy

Use a #3 Meps Aglia spinner in gold. Troll with that and keep it out of the weeds in Antero. You'll be suprised to what you catch. My average length out of there is 20"..

And if you are sitting in WI you have nothing to complain about when it comes to great days on the water. If you ain't [bad grammar intentional] already planning to, or already poundin' the Northwoods for great Walleye and Muskie (and some decent trout on occasion) then you are missing out. I'm with ya', nothing better than trout fishing in the mountains but...WI offers some of the best cold-water fishing in the lower 48 that I've ever been part of, it's just fucking excellent IMO.

Ill give that a shot. Wont be able to troll as ut isn't open to boats yet. Spinney isbso I will try it there and cast with it at antero. I might bring my belly boat but my legs are going to be tired if I troll! [Tooth]

I have a 10' Coleman Crawdad that your more than welcome to use. With a 32lb thrust trolling motor. Thing will make it half a day non-stop trolling. It'll fit in the bed of your truck no problem, and light enough for 1 guy to load-unload. Shit if I get some time, maybe we'll have to wet a hook and pop a top...
