Only 28 shopping days left! [uzi]
meateater and psychoI3oy said the forest service showed up last week.
They told people the line has to be 150 yards from the road, which put us maybe 50 yards from the backstop.

Really wish I could make it to these, but it is always on my kid weekend. I know, I know, bring the kids.. but that just isn't realistic with the youngest being Autistic.

Maybe one of these days...

I'll try to drag my dad to the next one, too. He's a hunter and likes to shoot but he's never gotten into the military type stuff. When I first showed him my AK he was shocked that it was even legal. I think he'll have a good time, though.

I just read the post from Ice Pirate in the Gen Forum. Wow! Did anyone of you that went to the South Shoot become aware of the safety issues we have? Bbadmin said something in one of the posts about it. I was floored with what Ice Pirate had to say. I think we need to take another look at the pics. You make the call, Are we being safe enough?

First off IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THAT UNSAFE I as am sure others would have said something.

Could we improve are saftey sure there is no such thing as being too safe. I don't get the whole thing with the group photo and the guns pointing at us my suppressed AR was clear the bolt locked back no mag in it and Ryans guns were the same.

I never seen anybody being unsafe except for gearheads buddy did get a little far forward of the line and somebody including me should have said something. The problem is the angle we were all shooting at was as such that he really was in no danger.

I looked at all the photos and I never seen anybody pointing muzzles in every direction.

Thats my .02 anybody else at the last shoot feel anybody was being unsafe? chime in and give your .02

I was not there ...and to be honest group shoots and formal ranges generally make me so nervous that I cannot have much, if any fun. I generally shoot alone or with a few companions at most(disclaimer)

However...as someone that is very comfortable with hot ranges (as long as I trust EVERYONE THERE) I will make an observation

On any range, I do not/will not tolerate anyone forward of "the line" unless all other weapons are HOLSTERED/SLUNG

This even includes people on the line(behind the line) bending down to pick up dropped mags. Because I am a firm believer in muzzles down IN ALL CASES it puts your CNS too close to the line

And there are obviously some people either forward of "the line" or shooting from behind it

Depending on what you call the line in this case

Okay you Northeners it's time to put on your War Paint. Let's show the South how it's done. A well planned shoot is a good shoot. First of all lets do our best to make it as safe and fun as possiable. I can donate a roll of caution tape for the firing line and I have some orange vests if we have any RSO's at the shoot. I also have a measuring wheel so we can mark the exact distance off the road to set up the line. Also I'll be taking some pics for the photo show so be on your best behavior  ! Anyone else have any suggestions lets hear it. Thanks, Larry

I had a great time as always but eeerrr ummm had a little problem on the way home. I took 72 to 119 then down Golden Gate Canyon to avoid the traffic jam that always happens in Boulder.

Well the dumb Biotch in front of me slows down to ten miles an hour at every curve. I was getting a little upset and found a straight away I could pass legally and she speeds up it was a race I beat her but not the popo that saw me.

He lights me up and I knew I was screwed no way I was not getting a ticket. [balls]

He comes up to the window and asks what my hurry is so I tell him the truth I got pissed at the idiot in front of me. He paced her at almost 60 when I tried to pass so he knew she was being a biotch. I hand him all my info and CCW and tell him I have my gun on me and he hands it back and says I appreciate that.

He then tells me he is guessing I was doing 60 and the speed limit is 35. I am honest and tell him that when I seen him light me up I glanced at the speedo and I was doing just over 60. He also tells me his initial reason (before I tried to pass her) was to stop me for following to close.

Then the case in the back comes into question so I tell him I have a full auto M16 and a AR15 with a silencer. He asks where I got the suppressor and if they are unloaded I tell him where I got it and yes they are unloaded. He never flinched or asked for paper work.

At this point I am thinking damn how much is this going to cost me. He says since you were honest with me I am only going to give you a warning and you better slow down. I damn near passed out NEVER in my life have I seen an officer give a break for doing almost twice the speed limit. Once again on my part  [balls]

I let him know I have not had a ticket in almost twelve years and he says lets keep it that way. One hell of a nice LEO to give me that kind of break. I have his name and am going to write a letter about how professional he was to Gilpin County Sheriffs Department. Even if he would have wrote me a ticket I still would write the letter he was one hell of a nice guy.

It was my lucky day and once again  [balls]

Jacks of all trades and a pretty good camara man to boot! They seemed like they were having a good time. We had a blast, except for my wife she got pretty sunburned.
