Welcome Home Billy!

So my little brother gets out of the Corps next month (fingers crossed), and I came across an old Pepsi can awhile back while antiquing, that I feel fits him quite well. His name is Matthew, but had a Nickname of Billy during high school. I'm curious if any of you fine folks recognize this Pepsi can, particularly the year Pepsi came out with these. My folks (both 49) couldn't put a date on it, so maybe ya'll can help me. Thanks in advance!

1981 Billy Gallegos was his name, he was from pueblo. was held captive in iran and was released in 1981, he is now a cop up in denver iirc.

they closed the local schools iirc and had a parade for him, I remember my dad driving by in the csp car while me and my mom watched, I was around 10 years old. I forgot all about it untill this thread came up.

Now that you jogged my memory, I remember the story, and Billy but...I do NOT remember ever seeing that Pepsi can series.
