Does anyone know where to buy tannerite local in the Denver area?

I bought some last summer at the Tanner gun show from one of the vendors, but I can not find it anywhere local.

Anyone know where to get it?

Thanks

J, thats funny you say that, I called them today and they had NO clue what I was even talking about. Where was it at and in what dept? Was it out on the floor, or did someone have to get it out of the back?

Thanks

I've got a small batch I bought a few years ago, but never used. It's yours if you want it.

Yep I've been that route, I called the battery place today and the guy had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. I told him I found him on there website and he looked it up while I was on the phone with him and he was clueless, said he'd heard of it and has no idea why they are on the list

And the first one for RMFCSA the phone number is a cell phone with no message, and the address is a set of condos

I saw what they call Star (tannerite ?) targets in there the other day and it was on one of the end cabinets in the gun dept. [Beer]

Thornton Sportsmans has A Brand name somewhat equil to Tannerite. Not Tannerite! But it was in the firearm section above the Chrony - graphs where the reloading scales and shotgun wads are kept!! [Beer]

White plastic jars with an explosion on the lable.

IS there really any difference between the two ? ( other then the name obviously)

Last Tanner I went to I picked up three off brand name containers...

I've not had a chance to go shoot em yet but it all works the same ... just like coke and pepsi are the damn same ( yes I know some of you just gasped)

When I was in Sportsman's, I thought the jars actually said "tannerite" on them.

I got some at Sportsmans Warehouse last month. I'v never shot it, but I want to surprise the hell out of my 11 yr old boy with it. He passed the muzzle control test at Apple seed a few weeks ago when he got stung by a bee, on the firing line, with a loaded rifle in his hand. He screamed like only a pre pubescent boy can, but I sure was a proud Dad when he kept his muzzle pointed down range (and didn't turn, flinch and shoot the guy next to him). So what is a safe distance for a .5 LB jar?

Awesome story, and great description.

I usually set them at 50 yards in dirt with no grass or anything around it.

the Can I have says 100 yards, mins of 50 grains bullet at 2200FPS

so a .22lr wont set it off I'm guessing....

rimfire will not set it off, there are some other exploding targets that rimfire will set off though

There is a difference in the manufacturer's of Tannerite.

Off brands can produce fire hazards, destabilization with mishandling/age, etv. I would strongly suggest of sticking with the original Tannerite as it is the most stable as I've proven several times out with some folks on here at the range.

Even though Tannerite is simply a water induced expulsion. It CAN easy take off fingers, give concussions, or kill you. Be careful using it.

You can put .5lb at 50 yards but the minimum recc distance for any explosives (outside of breaching compounds) is at least 100 yards. The point of Tannerite is not just to blow something up (though it's fun and I DO do it all the time, lol). It's actually a target indicator so you don't have to walk 400+ yards to check your target when working on LR applications.

You can buy in bulk online from the original manufactures of Tannerite. Brian and co are good people: http://www.tannerite.com/

Usually arrives in three days.

Any suggestions for somewhere to go shoot something that goes boom? Some great friends are coming out from CA and we wanted to try it out. Closer to the Springs the better, but willing to drive if it's worth it.
