I have an older(1970's) M77 and just got a new scope that I want to mount up. The Ruger mount rail is pretty small and looks like the ring mounts are pretty specific. The new scope is a 30mm tube and the rail attachment is the size for a picatinny rail.

Any help or suggestions on how I can get this scope mounted on this rifle?

Thanks

If it takes Ruger style rings, You can get Ruger to Weaver conversion bases for it. Just make sure they are tight. I know Burris sells them.

I saw these, is this what your talking about and the ones I would need? Does anyone local have these?

Those are it. You might want to check Sportsman's or maybe Bass Pro Shops or anyone that carries Burris products. I know Rocky Mountain Shooter's Supply in Fort Collins carries them.

Yes, but not local. I went out Saturday night and went to Sportsmans, Bass Pro and Gander mountain. No one had anything. I came home and ordered from Brownells.

Thanks everyone

Sucks you had to order it. I would think that those places would carry them. It's a pretty popular conversion.

Yeah you would think so, but nothing. In fact out of all three stores, Sportsmans was the only one who had anything, and all they had was one set of rings and they wanted $90 for them

$90 for rings?! WTF? I would never pay that much for rings that only fit one particular rifle. That conversion seems like a much better way to go.
