Morning,

Has anyone taken the CCW class through them? It looks like they offer them multiple days during the week. The cost $80 and it includes class room and range time (range fees are an additional $15).

I looking to take the class in the next couple of weeks before I have another infant in the house. I live in SE Aurora, so looking for something somewhat close.

Any info or other recommendations?

Thanks!

It all depends on your firearms experience and skill level, their is all levels of training available. If you are very experienced, (military trainig or a lifetime experience of proper handling & using firearms) the cheap 4 hour coffee & doughnuts class might be OK for the certificate to put with your application.
But if you are not familiar or have very limited firearms experience a multiple day course with lots of range time may be what you need.
But also read the "sticky" above concerning CC training warning.

Thanks SideShow Bob. I will check that out. I have firearms experience, but not LE or military I want to be proficient. My plan was to take the class and additional training. I think I will find a school that offers multi level classes to build on skills.

Thanks for the recommendation, it's helpful.

I have zero experience with GMG's CCW class, nor do I know who teaches it. What I do know, is the staff at GMG is top notch IMO, when compared to some of the other gun shop commando's in the metro area. Like others have said tho, the class you take, will ultimately need to depend on your skill level going in. You could be a lawyer who knows all the laws pertaining to CCW and use of force, but not have a bit of weapons training. Or you could be an elite operator in the military, and not know a damn thing about the laws involving CCW. Or you could be somewhere in between.

I won't pretend. I know my way around firearms, have been shooting since I was 12, but I have never had formal training and could use it. I want be well trained in the use of deadly force, ccw legal issues, and effective weapon deployment and use.

I'm going to go back through some of the threads and the sticky and the training links.

If anyone has a good recommendation, please let me know.

Thanks!
