"Dear Westboro Baptist Church, We have a funeral you can protest. It's near Pakistan, in the ocean, we'll help you pack.
Sincerely...America."

I encourage everyone to do that. I would also suggest reading past threads on them. Keeping in mind that the entire family are lawyers and purposely trying to get people to attack them to file suit against them. They are horrible people. I for one am a hot head and I need to constantly remind myself to stay cool with people like this.

Maybe when the time gets closer, I'll post up a thread so we can arrange people heading down there. I think it would be cool for a bunch of us to roll up at once and completely block them out
And that's a great point, Kev. We really have to remember to keep cool around them, and not let them get under your skin...

My fave on that pic is the "I have a sign" sign. Just a huge blank piece of card board would do it too. Keep those hateful WBC people from seeing the thing they're protesting.

We should have forum meetups at these WBC freakfests. There could be some sort of honorary award for best sign. We could have a discreet CO-AR at the bottom of our signs so we'd get to meet each other. I think one of the planned appearances was early enough I could do it before work.

heh, that would be awesome.
My sign would say, "Will protest for food. Every bit helps. God Bless."

How about, "Will vote for cash. Here's looking at you, Democrats."

Well it appears that WBC is booked, they are probably only going to be in Parker for about an hour because they gotta make it up to DU. Provided I am sure they get no one attacking them and don't have a reason to sue them.
My thought is send them as many nasty letters from around the country so they completely book themselves and have to travel constantly and never stay in the same spot for more than 10 minutes.
I am working down there and would love to see anyone holding a "I love Justin Bieber" sign.

And I am no fan of these guys at all. They spit on a close friend of mine marching through Arlington during an Active Duty Funeral.

I'd write something like... god hates inbreeding asshole churches from Kansas.

WTF? I always thought these guys were about causing a scene to provoke someone into doing something they can sue for.
I don't think I could handle one of them spitting on me.

That was in their earlier days...you would be surprised at how "professional" they are. They call and get permits and arrange everything to assemble peacefully. They are still ridiculous and do try to provoke people as much as possible, that is their main goal, from what I understand.

Bumping this thread back up since they're here on Thursday. I'll be out at Ponderosa high school before work, holding the flag and wearing my POW/MIA shirt.
I'm really surprised they and their church building are still standing.
I'd love to go to this but wouldn't be able to afford the lawyer aftermath....

I should keep my mouth shut.... However, I cannot. The scriptures quoted are from the Old Testament. We've already had this discussion. The rules and the laws of the Old Testament are no longer valid since the coming of Jesus and his cruxification, please refer to the New Testament (Matthew through Revelation in a "standard" Bible).
However, it makes a good laugh! lol.
I in NO WAY support the WBCult. However, when mud-flinging, etc, let's get it right! lol.

you know, I'm not a really big one on the Bible but I can say I've read it a few times and pilfered through it a half dozen more...
I never saw the part that says
BIBLE VER 2.0, New Testament: All Previous versions of the word of God are Null and Void."
Just playing devils advocate
I hear you Byte. It's a long and tedious philosophical debate that has no merit on this board. You are correct that it doesn't state, "all previous versions null and void", etc. (Ha, I like that). But upon knowing the history of the Bible/people/civilizations, theological ideals through the times, Jesus own words such as Matt 5:17, etc it is come to understand that no one could uphold the law and as such ALL are guilty and no one could accuse another of wrongdoing since EVERYONE has committed some form of wrongdoing.... blah, blah, blah. You've heard it before, "Let him who is free of sin cast the first stone", etc...
Anyways, I won't debate the topic, it doesn't belong on here.
The WBCult folks are some insanely messed up folks who I doubt will ever change... but hopefully someone gets through to them. But using their own tactics against them won't really change anything, lol.
I've seen some massively messed up people about to change their lives around. That's the best any of us could ask for I think. Best wishes!

Yourself and other reasonable Christians may believe that. Westboro frequently has old testament verses on their stuff. It's a matter of using their own logic against them... such as their logic goes. It's the same logic that leads to things like this:
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/.a/6a00d83451c45669e20120a5e9b5b8970b-500wi
Tattooing a verse from Leviticus on your arm about teh gays, yet not knowing (or caring?) that tattoos are also verboten in Leviticus.
http://friendlyatheist.com/2009/10/16/cherrypicking-illustrated/
So don't think of it as an attack on you, Bear, or other rationale Christians. It's all about Westboro and their whacky trolling.

i wonder what Matthew 5:18 means...
of course I dont have that book in my Bible.
look it up.
has heaven and earth passed away? no. so, according to Jesus, they were under the law. OF COURSE IF YOU ARE NOT A JEW, HE WASNT TALKING TO YOU. NOR ARE NON-JEWS BOUND BY TORAH.
