So glocktalk is down and apparently it got hacked.

doesn't bother me, the owner of GT and a couple of his mods are cocks and I hope bad things happen to them.

but our guys may want to keep a weather eye out on the interwebs.

Eric and Sharon are good folks once you get to know them. The place can quickly turn into a circus. I think they do what they have to for the most part.

Any more, I just hang out in the back rooms and the reloading forum. The urination contests that constantly spring up everywhere else can get a little frustrating. Part of the reason I'm here.

As far as it getting hacked, it sucks. There are still a lot of good folks on GT. If it never comes back online I will seriously regret not getting in touch with several folks.

I agree with what you're sayin', there are a lot of great people on glocktalk.

but there are great people here too, and here the mods aren't lockhappy control freaks. (sharon isn't one that I ever had a problem with)

I'm sure GT will back up fast, big giant head depends too much on the $$ he gets from it.

I shed zero tears when I heard about this. You can't be perpetually abrasive to your members and expect no repercussions. If it's a few bad seeds then they need to clean house because it's ruining the entire apples for most but a few.

well I posted this thread as a heads up to our mods about the haxxorz targeting vbulletin.

I didn't mean to post GT bitch session, and I regret my choice of language.

someday I'm going to do a paper on it as a microcosm of american culture.

I bring up the advertising because I was on GT for years and things were awesome, but the problems started (at least for me) when eric really started to ramp up the fund raising, paid memberships and new rules.

if anyone really wants to know the root of my problems with GT please PM me.

it's not very interesting or eloquent, and basically just boils down to unfairness.

and yes kev and oneguy, I argued a lot with LEOs there too~

I tend to be a one forum guy. I used to lurk here a long time ago, back before I registered on GT. I wish I had registered back then.

my first forum was gunandknife.com. then one day it was just gone, which bummed me out because I posted a lot of good writing there in the days after 9/11, stuff that I wish I had saved. when it was gone I went to GT and lived there happily for years.

after I got booted from GT I tried my hand at arfcom, that lasted about a week.

then I came here.

I use to love GT....The BGH is a good dude.

I use to check in a few times a day there to see what's up...There were a bunch of really knowledgeable people, who appeared to be really good peopl. The last year or so, the entire site has been like the "increase your post count" thread here at CO-ar15....a lot of people just posting to look at their name on the site.

I don't blame BGH for making it a business, and the ads don't bother me much. It's the constant locking of threads, and the constant 50 people filling up the site with nothing of value (I like Okie there, but how many taco bell threads do they need)

There are a couple of good folks over there, and I kinda like seeing some of the banter back and forth.

I don't really go into the political sub-forum, though.
