I have a Benelli M1 Tactical and want a 14" barrel for it but want to be able to train out of state with it. If the receiver is marked appropriately with SBR markings, could I put my legal 18.5" barrel BACK on it and transport out of state without the form red tape and headache? My suspicion is that I cannot because the RECEIVER is marked as an SBR. Anybody know for sure?

With MG's once an MG always and MG. In this case technically if you put a legal length barrel on it that would make it a non NFA item. The problem is it would still be registered as one so I don't know how that would work.

My advice is to go to ARFCOM and PM TonyK he knows his stuff and ask him or you could even ask David Hineline.

They would know for sure 100%.

Make sure to let me know what they say just for my personal knowledge.

Thanks Hunter.
I posted on ARFCOM under the "Legal" forum.
I'll let you know if I get an answer.

No! do not expect an intelligent answer in that forum do what I said ask Tony or David. You are going to get a bunch of jerk offs responding that don't know anything.

Look at all the other threads in that pathetic forum it is full of idiots that have never even owned a NFA weapons. TonyK is a great guy trust me just PM him and ask he will give you a no BS answer.

If in the event he can't answer your question he will not feed you full of BS he will direct you on who to talk to so you can get a factual answer and not BS.

Trust me just PM Tony he doesnt bite. [wink]
