Being in Texas is bad influence on you, get out soon as can.

The 0600 flight I had took care of that.

What a pisser that was.

I was called Friday and told, "Be in Dallas Monday." Sat around for 1.5 days waiting for systems access. Did one real days work, Thursday was a snow day.

Rocks. They ALWAYS fly off the road, not easy to ID IF some johnnydogood is gopro'ing their drive. Ball Bearings hold fingerprints. Rocks? Officer exactly which rock was used in this alleged incident.

I got pulled over north of Cheyenne once by one of Wyoming's finest for a report of a rogue soda can.

Didnt feel like it's own thread. Anyone have many ideas for helping with sweat from a kevlar vest. I know out in the sun nothing will save you, but just sitting in an office, and I still get sweaty just from the large area of no air flow from the vest. Seems like I tend to sweat easier.

So far I've only come up with grabbing myself some under armor heat gear shirts to try and keep things wicked and dry (one time to be thankful for dry climate here). Also found this http://shop.221btactical.com/products/maxx-dri-vest seemed like might be worth a shot.

Might even go as far as to do the vacuum hose to a car a/c vent for my drive to/from and on breaks could sit in car w/ ac.

Irving
04-19-2015, 01:22
That's a good question. I don't think I've had that issue since wearing a back pack in high school. You could probably get pretty creative with ideas to create space/air flow. I could see myself gluing strips of caulk backer to the vest, but that would create considerable bulk. Not to mention I don't know if that would effect performance.

I do remember reading about how doctors were using different methods of regulating people's body heat during surgery. Instead of using blankets to bring body temp up after heart surgery (where the person would be covered in ice) they would instead wrap warmers around their wrists. I believe the idea was that heating and cooling areas where major arteries travel closer to the skin works to effect body temp faster than just covering the whole body with blankets. So long story short, it may be worth looking into those cooling tubes you wear around your neck. Sorry I don't have any more valuable input for you.

Might even go as far as to do the vacuum hose to a car a/c vent for my drive to/from and on breaks could sit in car w/ ac.

can't help you cleaning wise. BUT... if you want to try reducing perspiration try a change of diet. Limit caffeine, carbonated beverages, etc.

Been switching out the furniture on wifes yard rifle to OD. Finally got the hand guard picked up and on it, waited(for 3 weeks) for slow poke buddy to send butt stock and now I can't find where she left the pistol grip she picked out of the pile.

She announces this morning she has decided she wants FDE instead.

It started with FDE and I traded those parts for the OD.

Think it is time she learned to assemble AR platform her self.[Mad][gohome]

Fitz not much you can do when you're sitting. Lack of airflow. The problem with Kevlar is its tight woven and air doesn't flow freely. Heat gear won't do much, it's made to dry quickly when air moves. Might provide slight comfort, it's the lack of circulation that kills you.

Several of the LE that I trained bjj with said it didn't matter what they tried. Even with ac cranked in their patrol car. It was always great on a really hot day... If their BO didn't gag you from being in a vest all day, the entire can of axe they use to try and mask the smell would.

What Jim said about your intake of caffeine and such will help as well

good cause i'm over scheduled

Before one tries "something for sleep" try meditating, exercise, yoga. Yeah it sounds hokey BUT being able to relax mentally helps your body physically relax. One of the better ones (for me) is some old lamaze stretches the spouse & i practiced decades ago before our daughter was born. Good stretching was followed up with relaxing your mind / trying to erase the hectic day.

In order to achieve this one must Turn off the phone, close the blinds and tell the spouse it's quiet time. White noise (fan) always helps.

Thanks, Monky and Wyome.......and mine as well to Monky's G'mom. It sure doesn't matter WHO it is in your family, it's always tough to deal with impending loss of a member of the family.

Whether it's a battle against a disease or simply a battle against time itself....all I can hope is anyone who is/has gone through it, is that the family deals with everything without arguing about stuff...and see to it that the waning months/days/hours are the best they can be for that person. I guess in my case, I should be truly happy that right now anyways, she knows and comprehends what is going on, and understands how I feel about her. She's been an awesome patriarch on my mothers side of the family, great lady who accomplished quite a bit of success with only a high school degree, and five children to feed on her own at the time.

Sometimes you just don't have the words to say to a person like that during a time like this. I really just need to go see her as often as I can before it's too late.

Not trying to be a downer or anything, guys, just talking about it I guess. It was good to see the family today.

I really hate it when people don't do their fuckn job. Especially those that brag about how great they are at it.

I have to get this health assessment done for the insurance provider and a big chunk of the cost offset to our health insurance $600/year is a negative COTININE result (tobacco free). Their are other factors, but both of us can get up to $2,000 combined off our premiums.

I tell the Dr., the lab tech, the nurse, the med tech, everyone, several times, that THE most important piece of information that has to be recorded on this damn form they submit is the COTININE result. "Oh, we do 8 of these a day, don't worry..." I also asked that they send me a copy. Corksoakers even got my e-mail address to "improve" their patient communications. Of course, I never received a copy, just their assurance that it was all COMPLETE and sent in.

Yup, stupid motherfuckers faxed in the form to the insurance provider without the fuckn COTININE results recorded.

Rant. Sorry, no cussing.

Customers. Are King.

But they can be a real headache sometimes. I get along with just about everybody but sometimes there comes a person that just goes so much against the grain that I end up with a splitting headache.

Customer calls last Saturday and sets up an appointment for this morning at 9:00 AM, when we open. I ask the customer at that time if it would be possible to get here about 10 to 15 minutes early, we'll get him checked in and have a technician on the bike right away. He says great, he'll be here. So I follow up with him yesterday afternoon and confirm the jobs and ask again if he will get here a few minutes early and we will get right on it.
So, at 9:15 this morning, he is not here. I have a technician doing busy work. I call, no answer, leave a message. No return call and at 9:20 I assign the tech another job. At just after 9:30 the guy shows up, I check him in and let him know that I will get a tech on it as quickly as I can. The guy explodes at me and says I promised him that I would get him right in. I recall the conversations we had last week and just yesterday and he calls me a liar and says I told him he could show up anytime. I keep notes and I had everything documented but did not say that to him, he is very animated at this point. I ask him to calm down and as soon as the tech gets to a stopping point I will move his bike up and get it started, probably about 10 to 15 minutes and we will get started. He says fine, just get it done, he has an important appointment he needs to be at by 11:00.

Well, the job will take 1.5 hours to complete. I let him know this, as we had discussed prior when he made the appointment and he starts calling me a f'ing liar in a very loud voice and this is of course attracting attention. So now it is nearly 10:00 and I have not even got the bike checked in.

The shop manager is now involved and everytime I try to explain the situation this guy starts cussing again and calling me a liar. I show the boss my notes and by now the customer is very red and I am hoping he is not armed, 'cause I'm not and he seems ready to come over the counter at me. Finally the boss tells him to leave and he does. He ride away and he is so mad that he almost crashes twice getting out of the parking lot.

Then the boss tells me I need to be more diplomatic to avoid ticking off the customers. Two other people saw the whole thing and told the boss I was a perfect gentleman the whole time, the customer was unreasonable.

I have a headache.

Some customers are not kings, they are assholes at the highest degree. I hope he finds another service center that he can work with.

We weren't too sure we were gonna make it through last nite.

At 1:14 AM the world exploded, or at least that is what we thought.

About 11:30 the thunderstorms arrived. Pretty much normal rain, lightening and thunder. Off and on until Armaggedon at 1:14. That clap of thunder "hit" so hard the house shook and several figurines fell from shelves, was so loud it woke all six people in the house and sent the normally only nervous Buddy dog into full blown terror/panic.

First time in 12 years we have had to restrain the dog.

My first thought was that a tornado was on top of us and the explosion that woke us was the house being ripped apart, instantly followed by several other nightmarish scenarios. Amazing how fast that stuff runs through your head.

So, dog raising holy hell, tearing through the house looking for way out, older kids panicked and calling out, younger kids crying, general chaos for few moments.

I yelled at wife to herd older kids to cellar and sent them toward her (they usually sleep in great room as group when at our house) while I grabbed the youngest and the dog and followed her down.

While all of this is going on, the storm still sounds like a full blown artillery battle going on in my yard. Power went out about 3 minutes into the chaos adding to the fun. Blinding lightening and thunder that repeatedly shakes the house.

It finally started to ease up about 2 AM and we were able to get dog and kids calmed and back to sleep about 3 AM.

Looks like about 3-3 1/2" of rain over night and some stuff blown around the yard. Have not been outside yet to see if any real damage.

^^Wowzer^ When we noticed the flags were pointing northwest it was a little sketchy around here. That bad tornado 5-6 years ago came in from the SE. We started moving valuables from their normal storage to the "shelter" until end of season, probably mid june.

04-26-2015, 07:54
After the fact I can say it made for a very realistic disaster drill.

At least the older kids calmed enough to take directions when I made it to the great room and directed them to head for cellar.

The wife did well also, arriving at cellar door just ahead of minions and leading them down.

My man sized Recliner just broke! Arrggghhh!!!!!. Oh well, I have had it for more than 10 years, it was getting clapped out and had to go sometime I guess. Now I have to get another one, sooner than later. I was looking last year and it seems that most have all these electronic features like massage and heat and fold up arm rests that store all manner of stuff. I just want a plain old larger sized recliner. There goes my suppressor fund again!

Thanks, I just really don't want to spend the money on a chair. It seems every time over the last two years I start getting close to the goal of having the money set aside for a suppressor, something comes along to empty the stash. needed a clothes dryer repaired, then brakes on the truck, daughter to the dentist, lawnmower replacement, on and on.

Sheesh! Maybe next year.

OtterbatHellcat
04-26-2015, 12:17
Yeah, the hits always seem to come at a bad time.

After you get the chair though, you have somewhere comfortable to go sit when the next hit blindsides you. You can be pissed in *comfort* ;)

Don't want to spend a ton of $$$ on a suppressor? Have you thought about a form 1 suppressor? Very easy and cheap. You can have one in less than a month for less than $400, stamp included.

Irving
04-26-2015, 12:52
If you get the suppressor now, you'll have less time to sit around while you're out shooting it. Well, except for the months you'll be waiting for approval that is.

Unless you do a form 1... wait times have been less than a month for e-filing. :D

Were around 1.5 months, now more like 2 - 2-1/2 months. Still faster than paper, though.

Still a little faster than a form 4, but not for long at this rate:

But not today in my grand daughters eye. I will watch the movie(enjoy it I am sure) and call her tomorrow to tell he how much I liked it and we must watch it together.

It's actually a fun movie, kids or not. It's like Toy Story. You appreciate the animation but catch the suttle adult humor within the scene.

Quote from the LM.

Teenagers Give them an Inch, They Swim All Over You.

funny scene.

Most anything you want. Experiment, try different stuff til you find one you like.

Seasoning blends (Mrs. Dash, Tony's, etc)
Flavored mayo ' s or salad dressings, add extra veggies, throw in some tuna, ham, chicken.

OtterbatHellcat
04-27-2015, 19:42
Okay, Lobo.... I just wondered if the egg salad world knew of some secret ingredient. I've had egg in tuna salad, but not the other way around.

OBC, check out this channel. He has a blog with ingredients and measurements, then you watch the video for the instructions. I believe it is geared toward making great food without being a great chef. We've made a bunch of stuff and it has turned out great each time. Here is the latest video I watched. Never even heard of this dish, but it sure looks awesome. EDIT: Oh yeah, there is a handy search box on his blog www.foodwishes.com that works pretty well for finding what you want to make. He's been making videos for over 6 years and 1,000 videos. Lots of quality content.

My answer is any brother that needs help protecting his family and or lively hood, has my help exclusively. I don't care what the fuck is going on, you need help, and I'm there for you. Also happens to be a bad day for any unfortunate soul that happened to think that they could take advantage of you.
