I always give her about half of what I personally collect anyway so she ends up with the lion's share. I think she enjoys thinking she's gotten away with the theft just as much as she likes eating them. I dont think she has very many joys in her daily so I'm glad she's briefly happy.

Redneck ingenuity.
Yeah, I started shooting while I was in high school with a basic single shot .22 rifle (Remington 514) that my grandfather could no longer use. My friends had tube fed semi-autos (Glenfields & Marlins).

We'd setup a bunch of plinking targets and my friends would blast away while I insert a shell, close the bolt, aim, fire, open/extract with the bolt, repeat. I hand-sewed a pouch together with heavyweight camo cloth, olive green nylon edging, a velcro top flap, with a belt loop on the back. The nylon edging held the flap open once the velcro was separated. Since the pouch had a wedge shape when open, the 22 cartridges had a tendency to sit bullet down. I could quickly grab a round by the rim without looking and stuff it in the chamber. Semi-autos can lead to a tendency of not making the shot count, so my friends would waste a number of shots and then they'd run out and scramble to reload. In the meantime, I'm destroying the rest of the targets one shot after the other. By the time they're ready to go again, the cans/bottles/golf balls are all destroyed and it's time to setup new targets. [Coffee]

I was there 1981-1984 and do not recall that. However, memory is fleeting. What little TV we watched was usually more BFBS than German TV as we did not receive an AFN signal where we were.

I dabble. Have the tiny Radian that I crash frequently. Currently down, last crash messed it up. Have a new chassis and need to either fix it or just get a new one and treat them as disposible.

Yea im moving more torwards electrics and multirotors. I've been flying RC plance since i was about 8. Just unpacked the stuff after a 3 year break and im trying to decide what to keep.

Any hos fly rc in dis bitch?

I do have an enthusiasm for rc helis. One of these days.

I remember the thread you started about the cars, and those are cool too. Ive done Heli's.......ok I've crashed 2 helis.[ROFL1]
Done cars and trucks too but the air is just a different world.

I dabble. Have the tiny Radian that I crash frequently.

I did this with the one that I did purchase several years back. I remember how much it pissed me off that I could fly the shit out of it on the game/sim....upside down and in circles around me.

Wasn't the case when money was on the line.

Yea Sims are misleading, for planes they come pretty close but helis are a pib for sure (pain in da bitch)

By end of 2020.

Take me with you please, I travel light witb only a wife, 2 dogs and probably a kitten soon.

In the meantime any ho's need some gas airplane motors? I only got 26 with only one plane left running gas. I might keep 3-4 but my grandfather hooked me up with his collection and dont need to hold on to them any more. Decommissioned 5 planes so im offically down to 5 that are rtf. Lol dude that sounds like my heli experinces, try to spoll it up to trim and the minute it hits the air it was all over. Just a different flying logic. With planes you have glide (on most not all), you get into trouble with a plane you down throttle, helis you up throttle......i just think i dont have a heli flying mind but quads imho are waaaaaay easier

Working on projects at the farm, I located and dug out the septic tank lids to have the tank pumped. It's been 24 years since I installed it so it was time. Everything is in good shape so it should be good for -- a lifetime.

It cost $320, about half of what it costs in the mountains of Boulder County.

After it was pumped I covered the tank with a 3/4 yard bucket of wood chips to help identify the location and make the next dig out a little easier. The soil was replaced, leveled and reseeded. One more project out of the way, yea!

The tree/shrub on the left is Chitalpa, a cross between Desert Willow and Catalpa. It has flowers like the Catalpa but blooms much longer from June to November. The hummingbirds use it heavily. I have four in the yard and will plant more next year.

Over the leach field are the low growing Desert Four-O'clock with their lavender flowers. The hummers, butterflies and bees use this, and Gambel's Quail sometimes nest under them. It's vine-like and all of it above ground dies off for the winter but the roots are deep and regrow each year.

Picket/panel section is just temporary as I could not run post/rail fence to side of house until deck built. The post/rail fence will be incorporated into the deck and will have a gate in it to access rest of deck that wraps three sides of the house. Reba will have access to section of deck in back yard only.

As the dust from the recent shock intention settles, I am faced with unexpected fabrication again. Certainly manageable, just a pain in the ass. Bilstein doesn't have a stud/stud shock that goes 31-1/2 full extension, only stud/bolt.

I've got the fronts figured out pretty good...probably 3 hrs. I figure. Rear is kind of a mess that I need to read up on some stuff about.

Did get the other brake line adapter I needed, so I can finish plumbing all that and get it bled when I have some help. I still need to dig that gizmo out of the master cylinder rear line for the disc conversion.

I prefer brake lock outs for the rear. That way you can "drive" the burnout if you so choose.

A buddies toy (1967 C10 with an 850HP 6.2l LS) has line locks on both so he can do whatever he so chooses...

OtterbatHellcat
09-20-2019, 23:03
P.S. rear disc... What are you doing for e-brake? Line lock perchance?

This rear diff came out of an E-350. I have access to all the cables needed, and I will pilfer a left side cable that was somehow missing. I don't think it will be overwhelming to fab a similar frame rail bracket for the main cable, as the second cable operates off the first. The only trick on that is mating the new stuff to the old regulator and managing the excess cable in this application. With the lift involved, the excess isn't a bad thing.

If I can't use the OE regulator, I'll just mount the E series one in place of the OE. I should be able to make it work though, I'm gonna try at least.

There is one interesting thing about making a Frankenstein Vehicle.....remembering which parts you used from what to get replacements for later. Ha!

OtterbatHellcat
09-20-2019, 23:07
Um yeah...I need front pads for a 79 F 250. Oh and some rear pads for a 02 E 350. There's a lot of E stuff mingled into this build.

Sigh. Remind me again what these stores are in business for?

Glorious weather today. You guys are wearing me out with everything you've been doing. Took the pupper to the vet this morning for more shots and shhhtuff. He threw up in my fairly new truck...again. 3 times. I told my wife that I'm going to have to rename my truck to "The Vomit Comet". Doggo is tired/stressed out and so are we.

I've been binge watching Babylon 5 and Justified on Amazon with my wife. We never watched Justified when it was originally on and my wife had never seen B 5 before. It took about 5 episodes for her to get hooked on B 5.

Gonna spread some Red Breeze this morning then spend rest of day abusing the small berm in my back yard and finishing up some builds/mods and get sighted in.Lucked out, "gravel" went down quick and easy. Was on the range by 1030 and finished by 1230, finally a good range day all around. Both rifles run like they should, on paper and ready to go rifle distance.

Pleased with the AR, gonna try and get optic on it this afternoon.

Hunting has been a real bust. I did go home and get my daughter though. We're camping two nights on very short notice.

Broke my phone all the way, drove all the way back home (the second time this week), to the store and I had to turn I am insurance claim and buy the cheapest pre-owned phone they had in order to lane the store with a phoneandget back to the mountain. Temp phone won't even run OnX.

Random thought after looking through the trading post...

Is reloading dying off or is the economy just that poor?

Some damn good deals on nice presses, and they aren't getting snapped up like I would have expected.

I guess the third option would be that everyone already has their reloading setups and doesn't see a need to upgrade...

Who knows, just thinking out loud...

Shit, I haven't looked in there for a while now. Your guess is as good as any I suppose, I already have duplicate single stage stuff and many dies as well.

Also, all my stuff is in storage and worthless to me for the last couple of years. Need to get it all set up again this winter.

Got the shocks completed today, and the brake lines as well. And trimmed out the carpet on the back of the cab too.

I'm really getting tired of drilling large holes in frame rails though....probably the last time for a while, I hope. Just gotta get goo in the diffs and Tcase, bleed the brake system....and bang!!! ...take that thing on a test drive around the block for real and see how it feels. Check steering, acceleration, stopping, handling and all that. I'm pretty excited to do that.

No it's not. Just hard for some to justify reloading (from scratch) when you ca buy ammo for under $250 per thousand, delivered.
However, IMO, those who are comfortable buying ammo, vs reloading. Might be in for a surprise as 11/2020 nears. If a R doesn't keep the WH. Ammo will be back $ $500 per 1 k pricing and reloading components will be a matter of knowing your local reloading store.

Yeah, we CV'd front and rear shafts. I did what the man told me do.

Thanks Brutal.....it's been years to get it this far. I have another pic of that drop pitman.

The OE system sucked to begin with, the drop pitman is kinda creepy...and I reverse chamfered the steering arm to go top side.

If any of this set up feels retarded or unsafe, I'll order a right side knuckle machined for an adjustable drag link above the springs.

I do have new front brake lines, just haven't installed them yet or made the mod for the rear line from the master. I'll do that stuff and get it bled.

Fair.

It does cost money to get into, and doesn't necessarily save money currently, I'm just astounded to see Dillons for the deals that currently exist in the TP and curious.

Yeah. I kinda blew the measurements though, both the front and the rear are two inches below the frame rail. You get what I was trying to do....I'm very pleased with those pieces however, they are far better than any of the aftermarket products available.
