a smith&wesson m&p 15-22 or a Colt Umarex m4 .22?

I like how the bolt release is functional on the s&w, as well as the ability to mod the stock, trigger, and other stuff with real AR parts. But the Colt looks better, isn't polymer, and feels more like a .223 AR. both function fine with proper cleaning and such. I'm in a pickle on this one so my question is, what would you choose?

and no, i'm not interested in the sig 522 :)

Here's a sub forum on the S&W site dedicated to the 15-22

I haven't heard anything good about the way the Colt/Umarex works. In fact there was a gun shop on Gunbroker putting toilet plunger parts on them and selling them as plungers and saying not to expect it to work for anything else. I don't have either, but I have used a lot of M&P 15-22s that always work, I'd go with the S&W.
