Item I need before getting barrel:
- DPMS A3 stripped upper receiver (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=1702&cat=1705) $155.25 Shipped.
- DPMS 308 Upper Parts. (Found out the Kit is not for .308) $45.60 everything without charging handle.
- BCM Mod 3 Charging Handle (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-GUNFIGHTER-Charging-Handle-GFH-Mod-3-7-62-p/bcm%20gfh%20mod%203%20762.htm) $60.90 Shipped.
- DPMS BCG (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=4988&cat=1685) $245.40 Shipped.
- ]MGI Regulator Gas Tube (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=5574) The Gas tube adjustment block does not fit the barrel, so I am not going to use it.
- Gas Tube (http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1676) $19.50 Shipped.
- Hopefully this Troy Gas Block (http://troyind.com/%20/battlerails/936-low-profile-gas-block) will fit the Krieger barrel.
- JP Rifles Extended Length Handguard (http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPHG-6D). $197.90 Shipped.
- Ordering a 24" SS Fluted Bull Barrel (http://dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=2011) from DPMS. $250.68 Shipped.
I decided on DPMS barrel because it had a really really good price. and if I don't like the way it shoots I can surely upgrade at a later time.
- Harris 6"-9" HRBM Bipod (http://www.harrisbipods.com/HBRM.html). $74.95 Shipped.
- DPMS Lower (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=1787&cat=1872). $300.00 Shipped/transferred.
- DPMS Buffer, Buffer-Spring, and Extension Buffer Tube. $51.52 Shipped.
- DPMS LPK (http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1934) for .308 less Trigger Group. $52.55 Shipped.
- Geissele Hi-Speed Match (http://geissele.com/hi-speedmatchrifletrigger.aspx) trigger.
- EDIT: I found a Geissele S2S for $125, so I am going to try it out and see how smooth it is. I'll probably post a review of it here. $130.00 Shipped.
- ERGO Tactical Deluxe Grip (http://www.ergogrips.net/item-detail.cfm?ID=4045LF&storeid=1&image=ergoar10tdel.gif&CFID=5856072&CFTOKEN=67856679) $65.55 Shipped.
- Magpul PRS Stock (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG308/84) $198.98 Shipped.
- Precision Rail Monopod (http://store.magpul.com/product/ACC001/35). $99.15 Shipped.

- LaRue Mount (http://stores.laruetactical.com/Detail.bok?no=42) scope mount. $154.95 Shipped.

- Armalite AR-10 Lower (http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=EA0901G&ReturnUrl=Categories2.aspx?Category=b5877938-548b-414f-bcb7-e45f80d451dc). Decided against the Armalite... DPMS had a bigger availability of accessories that I liked.

Optics? Well I am thinking a Leupold Mk IV (http://leupold.com/tactical/products/scopes/mark-4-lrt-riflescopes/mark-4-8-5-25x50mm-lrt-m1/) I decided to get a Vortex Crossfire. $219.00 Shipped.
All of this is going in a Pelican 1750 (http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1750) Long Case.

Got My LPK (minus the trigger group in bag), Buffer parts (tube, spring, and buffer), and my super cool ERGO pistol grip.

Got my Magpul PRS today! Took a week but I got it for under $200 shipped!

And this found its way into my collection. A Charter Arms AR-7, Probably won't shoot real great but I'm sure my 12 year old will shoot the crap outta it, and will be handy for the Bug Out Kit.

I might get one of those built after my pistols are built, and after I get my reloading equipment set up.

I assembled the upper. All I need now is to get it headspaced and make sure it is in specs.

Got a Vortex Crossfire in the mail today. I think I am going to try this out... I got it under 250 (yes yes, I know you get what you pay for), so I think I will try it out before getting the Leupold. Vortex has a pretty good warranty and good customer service from what I have heard on other forums.

Thanks!

I'm hoping to get the rings next payday, and have BPTactical check the headspace for me before I go out to shoot it. The suspense is killing me.

Would have been done already, but the vacation and things cut a chunk outta my project finish time.

Thanks benbaik!

I'm going to hopefully have BPTactical take a once over on it. I need to headspace it before I shoot it safely at first, and probably maybe ask him to maybe tighten up the uppper and lower for me so there is less play in between them, after that it will be a tack-driver I am hoping.

Wow. I just found this thread... It was really cool to see the progression of your build all at once. Nice job!

I think you'll be happy with your Vortex. Comparatively, you got a lot more than you paid for, and you're right - unconditional warranty, forever.

Again, ... Wow.[Beer]

Thanks! It would have been drawn out a bit more except I joined this site half way through the project, so I just copied it pretty much from my thread on the other site. lol

I am pretty sure I will enjoy the scope. You can beat the warranty just like you said. :-)

Ohh and I edited my shopping list to show a little bit more as well. Hope the wifey doesn't find my shopping list on here!

All Finished!

Just gotta take it to the smithy to be headspaced/looked over and will be ready to get a range report!

That's a beautiful rifle! Should be a tack driver.

I am hoping so... the days ticking by while it is getting checked for headspacing is just killing me.
