If Field Artillery is the King of battle,
and Infantry is the Queen of battle,
then Armor is the chastity belt that keep those bitches from getting raped.

Long live the 19 Series.

Heh, I remember POMing once and one of our LTs DID actually look like he was going to cry when they told him he had a few shots to get. :D

If he just got his contract, there's a chance he's shipping within a couple weeks of me, and it'd be pretty cool to know somebody I'm gonna be training with before hand.

remember, the friendly ribbing and rivalry is just that.

Bullet stoppers, Red-legs and Track-heads we always happy to see me when I was a Combat Engineer. No one likes to swim or dig except me.

When I went back over as Signal, everyone loved me when they could call VoIP to momma for free, get their emails and order more wet-wipes online.

Remember:
Never piss off the mail Clerk, The S-1/Payroll Clerk, or the supply clerk.
Nowadays you can add as much of the support corps as you like.

Everyone likes Combat Engineers . . . except EOD for some weird reason.

Q: What specialized tool does EOD use to locate and deactivate anti personnel mines?

A: An Engineer.

I think the top secret electric engineering course they take at Elgin AFB makes them think they're better than everyone else. That and the remote control robot toy.

I'm proud to be within the realm of Army 'support guys.'

I think it's funny to hear all the banter back and forth between the combat arms and the force sustainment folks.

It takes all types, and service is service.

Thanks to all who've ever stood in a foreign land and said, "not on my watch."

Technically I'm a Scanker. They took me off my tank against my will 5 years ago, but at least I'm still 19series.

Their was a 19K drill at Knox that scared me, I spent a month in a med hold over and was stuck with him, Truax or Truaxe? He used to stand at peoples doors at night eating chips just to make sure you knew he didnt sleep [ROFL2] He was funny though, we had some run ins!

I am sure RIP is still on Benning at 75th HQ. 3rd Phase of Ranger School is at Florida. That's how it still was when I got out in 2008 anyway.

RLTW! Good job guys, knock em' dead. Get a leg up and memorize the Creed and Standing Orders before you go, it'll save you a lot of headaches when you have to recite them when you are tired, hungry and at your mental limits. I'll ping you if I get a chance to meet you and drinks better not be on you!

Already on it [Beer] I've got my Orders down and my Soldier's Creed almost down, bout to start workin on the Ranger's Creed. Got the Alphabet, rank structure, risk levels, LDRSHIP, land nav, casualty eval, and Fundamentals of Marksmanship down too... I'm trying to make it so that Basic (OSUT) will be nothing new for me and I can treat it as just a prep period for Rangers.

What they have on paper for marksmanship principles is all fine and dandy, but don't be buying the actual zero'ing targets and be doing it yourself out there. Might end up ingraining some bad habbits that become harder to kick later. Drill Sergeants always say the best shots and easiest to teach generally were the ones who never shot. I only ever had touched BB's, ended up 20/20 foxhole, hit all 4 300's, one short of expert and for the embarrassing reason of missing a 50 because my zero was so high center mass went over it's shoulder.

Oh I know what's on paper ain't everything, I just need to memorize that bit. I learned how to shoot from a former DS, and when I go shooting its always with military friends. They say those with former experience are harder to teach cause they're already set in their ways (chicken wings and such) but I've been taught well so hopefully I'll have no problem with BRM.

've seen grown men crying trying to hand dig A-1 Abrams emplacements as I rolled up with a D-7G. They begin cheering as if you were the friggin' USO tour.

everyone busts on the POGs until their shit is broke and they need us.
Its all fun and games until someone shoots your satellite trailer and kills your router...

and you are here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=afghanistan&aq=&sll=39.903027,-104.995155&sspn=0.014239,0.033023&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Afghanistan&ll=36.390335,70.263062&spn=1.912431,4.22699&t=h&z=9).
