Wondering what you think of it. Rating/review needed.

I had one when they first came out. Shot decent enough and was reliable. After about 800 rounds I noticed the lug surfaces and ejector were starting to peen from being too soft. I sold it shortly after.
Decent rifle, not a fan of the proprietary magazine (Galil) and it doesn't do anything that an AR won't do and the AR is more accurate to be sure. Fairly heavy but a stout rifle as well.
One thing a lot of folks don't know, the Golanis are not built from IMI parts but rather from South African R4's IIRC.

when they first came out they might have been built with ohio rqapid fire receivers which i know some of their earlier receivers were criticized for being too soft, though supposedly orf got it right on their later generation receivers which i have their last gen m76 with about 400 rounds through it and not the slightest bit if peening. but the newer golani rifles are more than likely built on century receivers (not sure if that's good or bad) from what a friend told me his golani doesn't take "proprietary" mags but takes galil mags.

i personaly think galils for sure have a "cool" factor but after that like bp tactical said they are heavy and even if they take normal galil mags the selection is limited (though they come in 35rnd and 50rnd and you can convert the 12rnd blank mags) i would say if you have your heart set on a .223 ak variant the best route might be going with a .223 saiga and converting it

Ah I see, I wasn't trying to bust your balls about the mags in fact I wouldn't put it past century to make a rifle that only takes some odd ball crapy tapco mags lol anyway magnolia state armory or something like that makes an ar mag adapter for the galil though that even solidifies the "just get an ar" statement. My advice is get an ak-74 in 5.45 for a cheap blaster ak platform (and they are very accurate for an ak) but for a 5.56/.223 it's pretty hard to beat an ar
