I can't find much info on Boulder IDPA matches...I was wondering if the one next Saturday (May 21st) is still on?
Also, is there a safety class and if I have a card from taking the FRIDPA class do I need to take it?
Thanks
I am not aware of any IDPA matches in Boulder...

It's on the schedule for BRC.
It's on the schedule for BRC.
I see it now. They call it Defensive Pistol.
Must be a local version of IDPA/IPSC/something else.

Hoser is correct. This is not an IDPA sanctioned match. It is BRC's version of a Defensive Pistol type match and it does not conform to IDPA rules 100%
BRC also hosts the Indoor Combat Friday Night League which is a funky mix of Defensive Pistol and Bullseye shooting.

Just show up by 9:00. They will do a quick safety briefing before the match starts.

My bad. You can edit my post for clarification Hoser.

PM sent.
There is supposed to be a "pistol caliber carbine" side match too.

Captain Prozak updates the thread in the link below each month with the new info. He is one of the guys that run the thing.
Any questions, he is the go to guy.

It's $15 like FRIDPA. I've been a few times. Pretty fun. Have any specific questions?

I guess just since its not IDPA, how is it different? 10/8 rounds per mag, 3 mags...etc?
As many mags as you want, as many rounds as they hold. I don't think you'd really notice the differences unless you had the entire rule book memorized. I don't remember ever having to do any tactical mag changes up at Boulder like sometimes happens in IDPA. I think that is the correct term. I mean where you MUST do a mag change at a certain part of the stage.
It's nothing to worry about, where you need to study up on the differences before you go or anything. Oh yeah, people use race holsters and stuff as well.

Okay. How about classes? Same SSP, ESP, CDP, etc?

Classes are: mags that hold less than 9 rounds, mags that hold 9+ rounds and revolvers. It's very simple and very fun.
