Hey all,
I just got into shooting sports (trap mostly). Well, as we all know, the addiction doesnt stop there. I have always loved the looks of the AR-15/M16 and decided it was time to buy my first AR-15 in two weeks. I'm ordering a complete Stag M4 lower and complete Stag M4 upper with ARMS #40A2 BUIS. Looking forward to finding places to shoot around here and joining the club on organized events. I'm stoked I found a good group of people who can help me out and teach me a thing or two as well ;) Can't wait!

Also, I noticed you guys had a shoot just above Lyons. Where abouts is that? I've run into some sketchy/unsafe people over at Lefthand....

Well, just wanted to say hi and meet some people. Look forward to shootin!

Welcome. Well, you just missed our monthly shoot (just west of Lyons) and our next shoot is south, but you're welcome to come if you don't mind a little drive. But in defense of "south shoots", we do get the best crowds. Karl themodestone Mann.

Welcome to the north crowd!
Last month we had the off-month north crowd shoot for those that couldn't hack the drive to Colorado Springs.

Anybody that mentions hemp these days instantly gets tagged as a doper.
Now I don't mean to accuse you af anything MPfive..know what I mean? nudge nudge wink wink.
But seriously, I've been hearing it's good for making paper and gasohol too.
I wonder if the USA will ever get its act together enough to check out these uses?
As far as legalizing pot goes - I'm not so sure that's a good idea.

Your videos look cool. It's a hell of a lot of fun to make things that go clank!
Some years back I was on a team that built a robot with 6 pneumatic legs, each leg had 3 cylinders; one lift and an x and y translate.
Thing could walk any direction, spin etc.
One scuba tank was good for about 8 minutes.
We used a single board computer running C.

I don’t touch that crap, alcohol is my anti-drug!

That sounds like a cool pneumatic setup you guys had. We have some test that are a little more complex than the videos I posted (not as complex as what you are talking about) but the complex test don’t look as cool as the simple ones. The seat post test have been real attention grabbers when we give tours of the test center.

Hemp is the best material ever for clothing and many other great uses that is the biggest reason it will never be legall in the US. The cotton industry will fight it to the death and they have the money to do it. Industrial hemp has no THC so it's not about the drug once again it is like the super slab it's about money.

Ok I did not mean to rag on hemp; I mean to rag on hippies.

So my revised statement is "we will have all you guys eating granola and your females sporting armpit bushes in no time".

Don't forget the patchouli...it's a hippie pre-req. Kinda like the No "W" stickers on the Roo's with the bike rack and yakima's.

quivvy, I will definitely go shooting with you.

I am fairly new to this group also (about 2 1/2 months) but they are great guys, for the most part  . I unfortunately grew up in Texas and have only lived here for about 2 years, that’s my excuse for not finding this group earlier.

They have shoots about every month; the next is July 15th down by Woodlands Park. It is a little bit of a drive from Boulder but well worth it.

Several of the guys here have registered machine guns and can be sweet talked into letting you try them; be careful if you decide you need one for yourself they are expensive. My MP5 is currently crippled due to the artificial supply curve caused by the actions of a New Jersey Senator about 20 years ago. I am looking to rectify the situation but it requires about $11.500 on my part to do so.

Sory for the rant on that last part.

well thanks again for the warm welcome. i'll bring enough granola to go around at the next shoot... not to worry.

MP5.. I just moved here last year (for school). I'm also knew to this whole scene. I'm actually visiting family in Chicago right now, but I'll be back soon and get a hold of you so we can shoot. take it easy.
