View Full Version : Steel challenge & USPSA matches In Gunnison

Gunnison Sportsmen's Association (http://www.gunnisonsportsmens.com/) (SCSA117) has acquired the steel (via FNRA grant) and will start holding Steel challenge matches on the 4th Sunday of the month

Double dip and shoot two matches in one day at the same location

High Country Practical Shooters USPSA (WCO03) match starts at 10am, 5 stages done by twelve thirty - One O'clock

$10/$15 member/nonmember

Steel Challenge Match will follow and start around 2pm min of 4 stages

$5 gsa members, $7 non GSA members
Women and youth shooters are $2 & $5 member/nonmember

additional entry/Gun fee of $2each

Great to see the Gunnison Sportsmen's Club represented on this forum!
Fun place to shoot although it's been quite some time since I've been down that way. I'll have to plan for it though.

My father will be vacationing in Gunnison during the July match. Told him to pack his gear and I'll drive out from Springs to shoot IPSC and Steel. Should be a good time.

what weekend is this?

If the weekend of the 24th there will be an IPSC match for sure.

Our steel match is floating right now, we are testing to see what week works best for those traveling. We shot half the steel in may after the IPSC match which made for a VERY long day (12hrs).

This month we are shooting all 8 stages on a separate weekend.

We played with the Idea of shooting again on July 2nd (red, white & blue painted for the plates) but there is too much going on with the 4th of July activities I am in charge of (dam float anyway.)

Steel shoot may be the weekend before the IPSC match

Shot the Gunnison USPSA match today. What a great time. This was grass roots USPSA at it's best. First five guys there designed stages. I hope mine was enjoyed. These guys do whatever it takes to get out an shoot. For those who have not shot there, this range is literally scratched out of a rocky hillside. Where there's a will there's a way! I had a great time.

Also those interested in CARS, Friday night and Saturday morning is the Gunnison Car Club 24th annual car show. http://www.gunnisoncarclub.com/show.htm

Don't forget your guns shooting starts at 10am.
